I am still working through all of the Mother's Day cards I need to make. I wanted something really special for my mother and that is where my idea came from. I knew I wanted to use Dawn's Damask Designs set, but I wanted a fun sheen and some fun PTI colors. Here was my first try to put the idea to paper.
I first stamped the flowers from Everyday Blessings and the flowers from Everyday Classics in Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, Lavender Lace and Mellow Moss. I then stamped the largest image from Damask Designs set in versa ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then rolled Chocolate Chip ink over the images and this was the outcome. It is nice and it was what I wanted, but I really waned more color and less white and I also wanted less brown space.
So I stared again.
Here is the page with just the stamping. As you can see I had much less white space.
Here was the finished product after the embossing and brown ink. I really liked how rich it looked and the gloss and color showing through. It was just what I was looking through for my Mom.
I am biased, but isn't that fun! I wanted to make sure that the card didn't get too heavy, so I added Background Bascis:Retro to my card in Fresh Snow ink. I really like how it help to soften my card.
Well this is my finished product. I think my Mom will LOVE it!!! Thanks for looking. I wanted to add that the sketch idea came from Cardvarks it is similar to CPS and they have fun sketches to try. I really liked this one and it allowed me to showcase my homemade dsp.
It's a good life!
