From everyone

Well I am finally back up in my stamping room! There is some major organization happening, so it has taken quite a bit of time and I am only half way done. My little Izzy wants her own table in the stamping room, so I am making that happen. It really was way past over due. I haven't cleaned out in 4 years and as you can imagine it is a mess! It has also been quite fun going thought things I don't use and putting them into Izzy's stash. I have decided she is the perfect fit for all of my retired colors! What a great use. I won't feel bad if the ink pad gets wrecked and she will have "real" things to use. This was all started from the Papertrey ink blog hop challenge to use Mytimeless Templates. I do have before (and hopefully) after pictures to share for the blog hop.

Anyway, I was really excited about the My Favorite Things idol challenge this week. I really have fallen in love with masking and one sheet cards, so I had a great time. My strech was finding a MFT stamp to use as the background. I love polka dots and there was a great stamp in the Let's go for a walk stamp set. I also realized that Stamp TV color challenge was up and it was to use four or more colors. How perfect for my little project.

Isn't this so much fun!!! I really went out of my norm with the bold brights, but I loved how it turned out. I was going for Urban sheek here, so we had road and sidewalk. Normally I would have put some grass in there, but there is no way that hip lady would be walking on grass with those shoes LOL! I had no idea people would want to see all of the details, I did have my first draft laying around, so I took some shots for some more explaining.

This was the first step. I ran a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 piece of paper and a transparency through the big shot with the top notz die. I then cut the clear sheet at the preferated edge all around. I then had my outer mask, the top notz white die and the clear sheet. The next step is to lay your white top notz cut die down on your real 8 1/2 X 5 1/5 half sheet of white. I took the dots and stamped what would be the outer edges of the card.

When I took off the center top notz die you can see how my center would be white. This is my first attempt, so I had the red from the next step started, but you get the idea.
I then put the outer "waste" from my cutting of the top notz die. I also put the transparency sheet down and then spounged real red for my fake border. you can see the 1/4 I had already done and the part that would still need to be spounged.
Can you believe this is all one layer? I had a great time coloring. I used the top notz die as a template for my framing. I got the idea from Patty's blog. There is some fabulous talent in our blog world! I would love to hear what you think!

It's a good life!

  3. I can't believe this card is one layer, it's awesome! I'd love to see your stamping space once it's cleaned up and organized. I'll take any tips on organization I can get.
