So I finally was able to particiapte in my first My Time to Create challenge by Lauren Meader. You all know I adore her and now she is having different challenges every week. Isn't she stinking fun! I also had time to use the Card Positioning Systems #113 sketch. I also entered this into to Cardvarks challenge to create something with a tree.
Here is my take on the challenges
It has been raining here for what seems like years, so this is the best picture I could get. The other thing that was frustrating is that when I watercolored on watercolor paper my ink kept veering off the image. I was not happy about this. So for all of you watercolorers, what is the secret? I love the look, but I don't love how long it takes and then when it bleeds it makes me really cranky LOL! Any tips or tricks or websites that you know of that can help would be really appreciated.
I wasn't sure about this color combo, but after digging into it I really do like it. I am also in love with the new background set form Papertrey Ink called Background Basics: Dots and Spots. I am sure we will be seeing that one again! I love the zig zag shape of the main image and I also adore how it worked with the sketch perfectly.
On to the card, I adore the fun sentiment. Isn't that so true for many of us. Taking that first step, that leap of faith is hard and sometimes painful. There are times when you are in the thick of life that it is hard to see that the fruit is there and it will be there for us. I hope everyone has the best day and if you have sunshine where you are soak up some for me LOL!
It's a good life!

ReplyDeleteWhat sweet simplicity! CUTE!!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet card - love the colors.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Terri! I love the stamp, and the coloring looks good! When I watercolor, I always emboss my image, which helps me keep the paint in the lines. I have a hard time if it's not embossed. That's the only hint I have for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card! LOVE the colors and the way you put them together and I so love what you did with that CPS sketch!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love the colors and that adorable tree! Great job with CPS 113!

ReplyDeletewell, i think this is REALLY lovely...the colors...the great version of the sketch...just FABULOUS! (& i think you've done an excellent job of coloring...i like the blendy, watercolory look!!!) :)
ReplyDeleteI always emboss the image I'm going to watercolor ... the slightly raised lines seem to hold the paint where I want it ... however, I love your cool watercolored tree ... gorgeous job with all of the challenges.
ReplyDeleteTHis turned out great Terri! You really worked that SPot and Dots stamp too. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThat image you won is So much fun! And Lisa's Dots & Spots go perfectly with it....and a few more dots with Bitty Dot paper...you were on a roll! It all came out really fun! :>
