Blog hop time!!!!!!!

Welcome PTI fans!!!! Here was the challenge for the month of August....

In honor of school going back into session everywhere, we thought it would be fun to issue a Brown Bag Challenge. We want to see what you can do to dress up, alter, change an ordinary brown lunch bag into a paper crafting work of art. You could modify it to become a gift bag with handles, create a card base by folding it in half (complete with a slide out tag), add a window to it or whatever else you can dream up. After the hop is though, we should all have plenty of inspiration to help us create amazing projects with inexpensive brown bags! We look forward to seeing your creations!

Here is my creation
The pink scallops are actually the inside portion of the card.
Okay on a personal note, here is how my 3 year old signs her name. She is a lefty and she always writes her name backwards. Any sugguestions with that?
Onto the goods. First off, one of the things I loved about CHA was getting to ask questions from the greats. I talked with Heather about my fresh snow ink pad and decided I needed to get the reinker. WOW!!!!! She said she always bought the reinker with the pad so she had it on hand. After this experience, I will be doing the same as well.
This creation is tons of fun and I was able to use some of my color couture pieces. I try to cut them all out right when I get them so that they are ready to go. That is where I started with this card and then went from there. Mat pack die #4 is all it is cracked up to be by the way. I got the inspiration for this funky flower came from the fabulous Dawn. Have a wonderful night of PTI eye candy, I can't wait myself. Oh, the sentiment is from Big & Bold Wishes, LOVE IT!!!! Do you also spy the wood grain stamp? It is another new one for me as well. Last month was a fun month of trouble for me LOL!
It's a good life!

  1. Terri this is great! Love the stitching for the pocket card. Love that felt flower too. About your daughter's signature, I wouldn't worry about it. My lefty daughter did this when she firt started writing her name too. Not long after that she stopped and wrote it correctly. I just think it's awesome that your daughter is only 3 and can write her name:)

  4. Terri, this is adorable! Love kraft and pink together. It turned out so cute and very well done! I'm a right hander and I was always writing backwards until around age 6. I wouldn't stress over it yet! For heaven's sake... she can write her name!!!

  7. Really cute. Love the scallops. Love the background stamp in white. Such a great graphic touch. Love the pop of raspberry fizz. As far as the writing goes... a 3 year old writing letters in any old order is good, so don't worry about it. It'll straighten itself out by itself. I think she's doing a great job!

  12. Love your project!! Great colors! As for the backwards name - it's totally normal. When I have Kindergarteners who write backwards, I often put a star on the side of the paper where they should start writing...just a little cue for them, but don't worry too much about it at her age!

  18. Fabulous project! Love the matching scallops on the insert. And, as a kindergarten teacher, I say don't worry about the backwards name--it's perfectly normal developmentally for a child your daughter's age. It will straighten itself out as she gets more familiar with letters and words.

  21. Wow! First let me say, I'm going to have to CASE your gorgeous project!!!
If I didn't know better, it looks like your daughter's name is Lily; that's my daugther's name, too. She did the exact same thing when she started writing her name. She's not left handed, but I am. To help, we got one of those writing tablets and drew and arrow at the top to let her know which way the letters were supposed to go. They learn so fast, it took NO time for her to write from left to right. HTH (and awesome project again, btw)
