Dawn's 1st Color Combo

Have you heard of Dawn McVey? If you haven't click over to her blog, it is beyond worth it. I am loving her fun, fresh and playful personality and stamping style. She is so refreshing! Well, she just started a color combo challenge. This is a perfect fit for her as her color combos are outstanding! Here is her first one Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 1.

Isn't this just the picture of fresh and fun! I never would have grabbed these colors, but I really did enjoy this. Here is my card
When I was thinking about these color I saw that There She Goes was having a going away party for some of their designers. Their challenge was to check out the outgoing designers galleries and case a card. I ADORE Stephaine and so I instantly went to her gallery and found this card. I have never really done this for a contest, so I have no idea what the rules are, but I decided to case the layout. I really like how she put it together and since I am a sketch junkie LOL, I went with it.
This patches of paper for the background piece are all hand made background paper. The solid pink was stamped and the so saffron was scored to give some texture. I then hand stiched the brown detail. It reminded me of the bedding from the inspiration. I really like the way they put the colors together. Did you see some new goodies? Well I did get my Papertrey Ink package in the mail and you are seeing the new Hibiscus Burst paper, ink and buttons? Also the fabulous Dawn designs her own stamps and I just got her set Damask Designs . I am loving it!
It's a good life!
