Papercrafts CHA!!!

I am sure all of you are Papercrafts fans just as I am. I must say they did not dissapoint in person. It was a riot and we ended up visiting for all 3 make in takes. I LOVED the ideas they had for the make in takes.
Here is card 1. Can you tell the scallop border is actually numbers from a page of alphabet stickers. Isn't that a neat way to use product? I also love the bold colors used in this fun and fresh card.
From the same sheet we pulled letters that might go unused and used them for a background. Again, it was a fun and fresh idea and super easy to do. The white on white is a subtle effect.
The last card, you took the negative space left from the letters and made a card with that. How creative can they be?
Just another reason CHA ROCKED!!!!! Okay everyone keep their fingers crossed that it will be in Chicago again, LOL! Have a great day.
It's a good life!

Thank for your kindness

Well yesterday was a whirlwind of crafting. Today is going to be just as much fun. I have a lot of cards that I need to upload to Splitcoast stampers. I have about 5 more challenges to complete and a few more posts to put on my blog. All in all it is going to be a fabulous day.

This was a fun challenge for Beate's weekend sketch and a fun World Card Making Day challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com the challenge was to use the sketch, use a brown and make a thank you card.
Here is my creation
This is one of the many thank you cards I need to help Izzy make for her birthday thank you cards. We are working hard on helping Izzy develop and express a heart of gratitude. Sometimes it is hard for a little one to take the time and say thank you, but hopefully by making if fun we will get it done with a joyful heart. As you can see Izzy colored the horse all on her own. She also writes on the inside as well.
It's a good life!

Beate's Challenge

I have never participated in Beates weekend challenge #94. Isn't that CRAZY!!!! Well I had to wrap up a fun DVD baby tin I made for a good friend who just had a baby girl. She makes invitations for weddings and showers, so I wanted to do something really neat. As soon as I saw the weekend sketch, I knew it would work well for the front of the case I created for the DVD tin. Here is the sketch
Here is the front of my case.
A side shot
This is the front of the DVD tin. Sorry it is blurry.
I have done other posts about the baby dvd tin gift, so I won't go into that this time. What I do want to chat about is the captured case. This case is a Mytimeless Template offered by Papertrey Ink. I love the templates and I really did forget how fun and easy they are to use. I am going to have to add a few more to my stockpile LOL!
The origional case that you make holds normal cards. I needed something bigger for my DVD tin, so I firgured it out! It really worked out just fine. I used a whole 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper scored at 1 1/2 on each side. I then constructed the bottom of the box. I took another paper for the top and cut it to 8 X 10 and then scored 3 sides at one inch and one of the long sides at 1 1/2. You then cut out and assemble like the origional template and then assemble. It was easy and it fits my DVD perfectly!
It's a good life!
