Chicken In

Hi everyone! We are in "Lordia" as Izzy would call it right now. This is an old post that never got published for some reason, so I wanted to share it. Hope you are all having a great Memorial Day weekend with your families.

I am addicted to sketches and this is another Stamps and Smiles sketch. Not only am I addicted to sketches, but I also love the idea of getting free stamps. This contest has already passed, but the sketch is still a hoot. Here is my take for the sketch.
Can you believe it? I love this Stampin Up set, Best of Cluck, so much that I know it will have a home here forever. There just isn't a better how are you doing set than this in my opinion. I of course and biased as I am born and raised on a farm and therefore partial to anything with farm animals. Another thing I am working on ~ using my supplies. This is the first time I have used kiwi kiss stripped ribbon and I have had it for months. I know the travesty.

This card actually went to a wonderful man who works for my Dad and just had open heart surgery. He is a carpenter and he is always the first to help out.

It's a good life!

Live it up

Don't forget about the chance to win Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Retro. Get the details here.

Well I just stumbled on this new company the other day called Stamps and Smiles. I think they have some cute images and I loved the sketches they had with their opening. I am going to try and participate with their weekly challenges as well, so you will see more of them from me in the weeks to come. I would love to have some of their stamps, but that darn budget gets in my way LOL! Just in case you were wondering about wether I am really a stampin up demo, I decided to do a stampin up only card. Here is the sketch SASSC4, the contest is over but the sketch is still fabulous!

Here is my take on the sketch

As you can see, I needed to flip my sketch over to make everything work for my image. I am loving this stamp set. Why do I always let my goodies sit for a few weeks before I crack into them? I am working hard on keeping up with actually using my stamps. Another goal of this blog is to help me send these cards out as well.

This card is going to my sister-in-law Amy. She is fabulous and she is now a brand new SU demo. Woot Woot!!! She is such a wonderful and creative soul. I have been blessed with a closer relationship with her over the past few years. She is such a treasure.

It's a good life!

The journy begins...

This is for a wonderful sketch challenge by Mercy for Stamps and Smiles SASSC6.

Here is my take on the sketch.

This is my first time using Melaine's stamps set from GKD called Hand in Hand. I love that a black and white can have so much power. This is for friends of ours who just found out their almost 3 year old has lukemia. How devestating! He just had his first round of chemo therapy and he is home, but this family has a long road ahead. The inside says I'll be praying for you. I feel that is really all I can do.

Here is another card made with a Stamps and Smiles sketch. I linked you up to their blog since this particular challenge is over. They do have more every week, so feel free to check it out!

Here was my take on the sketch

This was the first time I have really played around with a grid background. I know I am behind the times, but I really love this look. I am also loving this image from Inspired with Nature. Oh and those are buttons from Papertrey Ink. That is one of my favorite new finds tons of variety for $5. FABULOUS!!!

Thanks Chickie!

Hello again! This was another sketch from Stamps and Smiles. I had to make my sister-in-law a thank you card for the birthday/christmas goodies she got me from Papertrey Ink. I was so excited when I got the package. She splurged on me with some fun new colors. I feel gulity at times getting new colors when I have all of the stampup colors, so this was a treat.

Here is my take on the sketch. Do you love it? That is a question that I hear a lot right now from Izzy. She follows it quickly with "I LOOOVE IT". She is quite a stich right now.

I just got my Little Tees stamp set by Mealine Muechinger. She is a genuis if there ever was one. I am in love with this set and you will be seeing more of it here. I am also in love with this color combo from Papertrey ink. Fabulous!

No Black, No Flowers, No problem

Well I had every intention of going to the Verve release party and then I got lost in stamping. We have had tons of rain over the past two days, so I was sure no good pictures could be taken as I don't have anyway to light other than natural light. In comes Discovery #1 - Hello my camera settings can help me a ton. I never played around with it, but I have night time and indoor settings. It is definately not the same as natural light, but it worked for my rainy day. I combined 2 challenges for this card the first is a sketch challenge from Stamps and Smiles SASSC5. Mercy does them and she is just the bomb!!!

I combined that with the March Ambassador Challenge #1 from My Favorite Things. One of my favorite bloggers/stamp designers ever Melaine Muechinger was the hostess, so I had to play. The challenge is to make a spring card. The restrictions are NO FLOWERS, and NO BLACK! Here is my card Can you say wowziers! I didn't realize how much I used black and flowers come on cards when I think spring. Luckily I have been leaving lots of comments on blogs and seeing lots of great ideas and this stamp set is getting a lot of love right now from others. Since I have only used it one other time, it was the perfect fit. I am really going crazy with the fun flock around here and he now has a fuzzy orange beak. More scoop about the MFT VIP package, the ribbon bundle that was included ROCKS. There is so much of each ribbon and it is yummy! I would definately order that again.

It's a good life!
