Here is a card that I put together for a GKD challenge on Stamp TV.
I really like the idea of using some of these piles and piles of designer serries paper I have on hand. This was and idea to make a quilt type card. It really lent itself to my issue of using dsp scraps. If you have any more ideas on how to use scraps, feel free to let me know.
It's a good life!

Hello!
I am excited to be writing today. It means I am finally done with all of Cece's announcements. When I took this picture, I thought I had them all done, but then I realized as I was stuffing envelopes that I still had about 41 to finish. Wowziers!!!! Anyway they are cute and will be out in Monday's mail. It does feel good to have that done.
Here is the card for the day.
Here is the card for the day.
I used PTI borders and corners ovals for this card. What I liked best was teh fun background. I acutall stamped it in crumb cake ink from su and then used a white gel pen to add some pop to the centers of the image. I used this for the Finally Friday challenge to make a hello card.

Start your day with a wheeeee
I am so excited to finally get this fun post up. Why do I always wait until the last minutes to get everything done and up on my blog LOL! For this card I had two different challenges the sketch came from annabelle stamps blog
I also got to do this fun challenge from aspiring to creativity. It was to use this picture as inspiration and then also use something I haven't used before.

Okay for things I haven't used before. At CHA I got these fun stamps from My Favorite Things and I also had a new box of copics waiting, so this was the first time to put those things together. I have been eyeing this fun start each day with a "whee" set for the longest time. I loved the polka dots in the picture and hopefully it worked with this card.

Blog hop time!!!!!!!
Welcome PTI fans!!!! Here was the challenge for the month of August....
In honor of school going back into session everywhere, we thought it would be fun to issue a Brown Bag Challenge. We want to see what you can do to dress up, alter, change an ordinary brown lunch bag into a paper crafting work of art. You could modify it to become a gift bag with handles, create a card base by folding it in half (complete with a slide out tag), add a window to it or whatever else you can dream up. After the hop is though, we should all have plenty of inspiration to help us create amazing projects with inexpensive brown bags! We look forward to seeing your creations!
Here is my creation
The pink scallops are actually the inside portion of the card.
Okay on a personal note, here is how my 3 year old signs her name. She is a lefty and she always writes her name backwards. Any sugguestions with that?
Onto the goods. First off, one of the things I loved about CHA was getting to ask questions from the greats. I talked with Heather about my fresh snow ink pad and decided I needed to get the reinker. WOW!!!!! She said she always bought the reinker with the pad so she had it on hand. After this experience, I will be doing the same as well.
This creation is tons of fun and I was able to use some of my color couture pieces. I try to cut them all out right when I get them so that they are ready to go. That is where I started with this card and then went from there. Mat pack die #4 is all it is cracked up to be by the way. I got the inspiration for this funky flower came from the fabulous Dawn. Have a wonderful night of PTI eye candy, I can't wait myself. Oh, the sentiment is from Big & Bold Wishes, LOVE IT!!!! Do you also spy the wood grain stamp? It is another new one for me as well. Last month was a fun month of trouble for me LOL!

Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past!!!!
Welcome to the fun Taylored Expressions blog hop!!! I am so excited to finally have some TE stamps so I can particiapte. I took the plunge after stoping by their booth at CHA. When you see these cuties in person, it is all the more impressive. After playing with them I am so excited that I have them at home.
Here is the inspiration sketch that I used for the card
Here is my cardOkay these cupcakes are adorable!!! My 3 year old is also loving them and that makes my day as well. I am sure more will be finding their way home in the near future LOL! So, I used Sweet Celebration on this card. I ended up water coloring the little cutie, which I haven't done it in a while so needless to say I need to bust this out more as well. The biggest thing I forgot was to let everything dry.
My niece Aubrey is turning 3 in a few weeks, so surley she will love this cutie. That is also why I went with some pink as well. What girl dosen't love pink? Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day hopping.

Blessed
I recently won a Verve $30 give away. How fun is that? Needless to say there was more than that in my cart and one of the sets is the one you see below, Just for You by Verve.
I made this for a one of last months Viva La Verve challenges. I really have a lot of fun with Verve. They make some of the best setniments. It is really hard for me to use markers on clear stamps. I have found that if I stamp them in versa mark first then apply color with my markers I can do some highlighting. As you can see, it is not fool proof, but it works for me.

So please hop along with us, and make sure to leave comments as there will be prizes for commenters and participants! So let's get going! If you are coming here from Laurie's fabulous blog you are in the right spot. If you are lost in the hop or if this is your first blog, you can always start at the beginning at the Lawn Fawn blog. Thank you so much for hopping along with us today!
Well, my 3 year old daughter LOVES working on the cards we make for the kids. Usually we bust out some fun kid joke cards and she then tells everyone the joke we used on the card. Since we just got the new to us airplane set from PTI called Fly Away, she decided we had to use that. I used one of the Verve release week sketches on this beauty. Here is our card
Thank you to Jennifer and everyone behind the scenes who make reaching out to others so easy for my family by putting the Cards for Kids drive together. We don't know a whole lot of really sick children, so this has been a great way for my daughter to minister and show love to other kids. We really enjoy talking about what things would make their day better and what she likes when she dosen't feel well. Such a great opportunity to not only bless other children, but lay some important ground work with our children in a fun and creative way.
Have fun on your hop! Your next stop is the AWESOME Jennifer McGuire.

Thinking of You
I know, I know another new challenge site!!!! I must be spending too much time surfing because I just keep finding all of these FABULOUS sites. Okay here is the photo-synthesis challenge site
I combined this with the sketch from Get Sketchy card challenge

Well I this card could go either way, a wedding card or simply thinking of you. I am going to use it for my dear friend who lost her Dad a few months ago. I want to keep sending her some love to let her know I am thinking of her.
Do you see all of the different punches used? This was for the finally friday challenge that is found here on Kristina's blog. She is so inspiring. Even when her creation isn't quite my style, I always pick up something in her videos that I want to try. This week is no exception. I used my 1 in circle punch and a tiro of hearts from SU to put this card together. The paper is all October Afternoon thrift shop. Love this paper. It was already distressed, but I went ahead and did some more with the PTI duo. The letters were heat embossed with white embossing powder, but I got it to look good but applying the duo on that as well. It really toned the white down and made it flow with the card. Love the little thin ribbon as well. Rarely do I bust this size out, but it worked well on this card.

Changes
Isn't that a hard word. We have been having some fun times with that at our home. Cece is now 2 months old and Izzy is not so sure about our family dynamic. She LOVES Cece, but not so sure she likes how everything has had to change. It is hard going from an only to a big sister I guess.
Needless to say I needed to give my little crafter a card. I used this color combo since the bright colors reminded me of her. You can find the great challenge at Colour Q.
Then this week is the Verve release challenge week. How fun is that? I used this sketch found here

What do you think? I like how it turned out for my pink a licious girl LOL! Although she can't read the sentiment yet, it is perfect for her. I used the PTI CHA set for creating my background paper. I am in love with the frizzy flower. I don't have the wild wasabi ink pad yet, so I versa marked the main leaf and then used my wild wasabi marker. It created a streaked look that I actually really like.
The sentiment is from GKD and the butterflies are PTI Butterfly kisses. I finished off the butterflies with my xron machiene and dazzling diamonds. I did pop up the main word pannel and the butterflies as well with stampin dimensionals.

I have been working on using up my color couture from PTI. I adore what Dawn does with these fabulous embillies, so I just have to get them. The bigger trick for me is using these cuties. I am happy to say I have made 4 cards with them the last 2 days. Luckily I cut most of the elements out as soon as I get them, so it isn't too hard to make quick cute cards after that.

Clean and Simple had this fabulous card last week as a fun challenge.

Isn't this card so much fun? I really loved the whimsy. The only thing I haven't figured out is the impression plates. I LOVE them, but I don't always get the depth of impression that I would want with these. Any tips about this would be appreciated.
The clouds and balloons are dies as well. Love them. The stiching I added to touch up the card.

I am excited about the card for today. After lurking for a very long time, I finally am putting a card together for the Sweet Sunday sketch found below.
Here is the color combo I paired it with from OTWC

Well, what do you think? It was fun to pull out this set and play along a little. It is called Take a Bough from PTI. I turned the branch upright and made it a Charlie Brown type of tree. This sentiment is one of my favorites and I have never used it. Oh the shame. The details added to the card to make it work for me are stickles on the stars, one rounded corner, scoring along the side and some sweet blush satin ribbon.
I also combined this with the Simplicity One-Layer Wednesday challenge. When I saw these colors I thought it would be a fun twist on the challenge. Hope you enjoy!

I know the plans I have for you
It's Viva La Verve time wahooo! I really like this challenge and I am committed to it every week, hopefully LOL. Here was the picture

My card
This card was made for baby Logan. I adore my cousin and her little one was baptized this weekend. I thought this card was perfect. As I have mentioned about a billion times Verve is the best with great scriptures and classy fonts. Yet again they came through. Isn't that verse perfect for a baptism?
I stamped the verse with black and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder and put ink over the cross. The effect worked so well for this card. The satin ribbon was a fun element and I broke out my SU silver flower and brads. They have been sitting on my desk for a few years. Can you tell using my supplies that I have is a current theme of mine LOL!

Gray's Anatomy anyone???
I am missing the fun dirty dozens challenges. Splitcoaststampers had a fun group of callenges from their subscribers and I won a 6 month extension, whaooooo!
I made this cutie for a challenge that was to depict a TV show in your card. Is anyone else having Gray's withdraws? I really like that show and even though there hasn't been a lot of new, it is still a fav. This fun set is from GKD. This was made for a Valentines day set and I have made some fun cards for my hubby with this cutie. All of the challeneges had me digging in my stash of stamps. It is so much fun to rediscover things you have at home LOL!

Papercrafts CHA!!!
I am sure all of you are Papercrafts fans just as I am. I must say they did not dissapoint in person. It was a riot and we ended up visiting for all 3 make in takes. I LOVED the ideas they had for the make in takes.
Here is card 1. Can you tell the scallop border is actually numbers from a page of alphabet stickers. Isn't that a neat way to use product? I also love the bold colors used in this fun and fresh card.

Thanks my friend
This is another combo challenge card. I have 6 more thank you cards to go before I am done, slowly but surely we are moving forward. The first part of my card was a challenge from Everything but the Kitchen Sink challenge which was to use buttons.
Then I found this great inspiration picture from Stamp TV

Here is what I came up with
Wasn't this fun? I love purple, but I don't use it a whole lot. I liked the color and the minimal sharp lines in the bedroom picture. This dsp is from PTI and I have rarely used it. Isn't it fun to break into things that don't see much love. I have been seeing a lot of paper strips getting used in cards and it makes me happy! As a matter of fact, I will be submitting this for the Finally Friday challenge to use at least 4 patterned papers on your card.
What do you think about the buttons? Another thing I have been hoarding and need to start using! Again, I have been seeing this in the place of ribbon and it has been quite a bit of fun. I am definately going to keep these beauties out and use them more often.

CHA Make in Takes
Here is another CHA make in take installement. The first is a sketch book that I made at the Taylored Expressions booth. It turned out super cute and it is made with a new set that will be coming out in August. I ended up buying another new set there as well, but haven't busted it out yet. It is in the container LOL!
This is a cutie little robot candy box that we made at the My Favorite Things booth. I adore that we got to use copics there, but you did have to wait in a line to do their make in takes. I was glad to have this one done without a HUGE wait.
