Paper Smooches Fun and Cute challenge

I am excited to be able to participate in the Paper Smooches fun and cute challenge.  It has been an odd week for our family.  Izzy had the flu the first two days, I had it Wed, Thursday and today Cece has it.  It seems to go through quick, but it has me home the whole week instead of at work.  Odd, but I have had some creating time with the girls, so that has been really fun.

This is a new to us set that we ordered during Paper Smooches anniversary.  The girls LOVE all of the images and they are really into coloring, so it worked for our family.  Cece picked the unicorn stamp set Spectrum.  I added the rainbow die and the sentiment is from luminous spring.
I wanted to try and get a close up of the glitter and dimension.  It was hard to see in the first photo.  I think this will end up going to Cece.  I really enjoy sending the girls mail.  It makes their whole day and they get a kick out of having something to open from the mail box.

My next mission is going to be making something for my nieces.  We live in the same town, so sometimes we forget to send them love mail, but they would love it too!

Blog hop winner!!!!

So I have to share my excitement and glee here!  Very few people would understand my joy over this!  I was one of the random winners of the blog hop.  How fun is that?

I was asked what stamp sets I used.  I am so behind in the blogging world I didn't even think to include that.  The flowers were from the PTI stamp set Friends til the End and the sentiment is from a new Paper Smooches stamp set called Fun and Flirty.  It was free with an order of $60 or more and it is fantastic!

Thanks for sharing in my excitement!

PTI Blog Hop Feb 2016

Today is PTI monthly blog hop!  It was awesome to be able to join.  Life has been busy, there is nothing like a sickness to bring you home and slow you down.  It has been an interesting week, but we have had some creating time.  I liked the pink and green and the big flower in this picture.
I created two cards.  This was my second, but ended up that we liked it the best.  I loved the sentiment and the way it popped.  This was done by embossing the flower and then using the distress ink to color and blend.

The was my first card.  It look so much better in real life.  The sentiment is hard to see in this picture, but in real life it is beautiful.  This was done with heat embossing and some water coloring.  Getting the water colors out was a great thing this week with the kiddos.

I can't wait to hop around today.  This evening I have an OIL 101 class to host with young living oils.  I do think that we got over the flu much quicker with the oils.

Izzy is loving her creating time!

This is Izzy's paper smooches challenge card.  She is so fun to have around and up in the stamping room.  She is really big into using her creativity which I love!  She won best of show in 3rd grade at the fine arts festival and I couldn't be prouder of her.  She was home with the flu and we have both had more time to create.  She has another card to enter and I got one done as well, but we will need to take the picture tomorrow.  Have a great night!

PTI MIM Watercolor resist

Well I am back again because my Izzy got the flu which started at 1:00 am Monday and lasted until 11:00 am Monday.  It was quick, which I am attributed to the oils we used and diffused!  I am so grateful to have this healthy option for our family.  On a good note, it allowed me to be home with her for a few days and I was able to get into the stamping room.  I can't wait to play with this PTI MIM watercolor resist technique more.

Here was my first attempt.  I ended up playing with full watercolor pages and then cut down what I needed.  I really like the effect I achieved and I do want to do one with the swirls that Lizzie made on her card.  The rubber cement was a lot of fun to play with.  It was also wonderful to bust out the watercolors and just play.  I really have enjoyed my time in the stamping room and can't wait to carve out more time!
This background I made with the retro sketches challenge in mind.

I really like that this technique allowed me to have a flat card and not all of the bulk.  I think that is one major change that has happened with my stamping over time.  I don't do the big bulk and layers that I did at one time.  I might try this sketch again more as it was intended, just for a fun throw back.

MIM Finally Back!

It feels so good to be back.  It has been a busy year with tornado clean up, work, Randy working in another state and becoming an oiler!  All in all busy, but really good.  I watched all of the PTI fun for their anniversary and while I didn't post anything, I did place a great order.  I am bound and determined to get back creating with the girls

This week PTI had a MIM on how to dress up pattern paper and boy did I have fun.  I will have more coming later in the week, but just one for today.  I found some large polka dot paper in the stash (no idea where it is from) and used flowers from Betsy's kit to create this fun background.  I though it would take forever and then remembered that is what this hobby is for me, a time to relax and slow down so it is okay if it does :)
!

The original was fine, but adding the flowers and taking the time really kicked it up a notch.

If you are curious about the oils that I have jumped into, feel free to reach out  They happen to be on sale this month, so it has been a good oil month as well!  We use them for pretty much everything.  The girls have diffusers in their room and use them every night to sleep.

It's a good life!
