MIM Word Art Wednesday Mash Up

Well Randy and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary this last weekend.  We had two full days to just be.  It was really nice.  When I got home on Monday I was able to play with some new PTI goodies that had arrived.  I FINALLY got my hot little hands on the brushed birds stamp set.  It has been on my list and I have waited months for both the stamp set and dies to be available at the same time.

I thought the word highlighting challenge for the PTI MIM went so well with the word art from Word Art Wednesday that it just needed to be paired together.
This cute little bird really just makes me smile.  We have lilacs growing all over the place right now, so the spring sprigs really worked.

This verse is so fitting for the bible study and just life right now.  We are in a season of nose to the grindstone, this verse really speaks to that and the hope knowing that in God's time we will reap what we sew.

Word Art Wednesday

I'm jumping right into the card today.  It was a fun one to make.  The sentiment is from Word Art Wednesday.  I really like and needed to hear this bible verse.

I often feel that sometimes hard work goes unnoticed.  Have you ever felt like that?  This was a great reminder to me to stay the course, keep walking in God's will and keep praying.  He notices and that is the only one that matters.

I used Papertrey Ink's Rosie Posie and Ever So Much.  I'm not sure how I got Ever So Much, but I feel like it was a promotional thing and not in the store all of the time.  The butterfly is big and really pretty.  I can't wait to play with this set some more.

If you need any prayers or encouragement, I would be honored to pray for you.  Feel free to leave a comment.

It's a good life!

Word Art Wednesday

I don't know about any of you, but it has been the coldest and snowiest spring I can remember.  I am so ready for the warmth to come back.  You might be able to see that in my card LOL!

The verse this week comes from Word Art Wednesday and it is from the book of James.  Wisdom is something that I seek daily.  It is so hard to see through all of the distraction to get to the heart of matters at times.  We are doing the Lisa Tyrkurst bible study I am right now.  We are on the first week and it is all about the I Am the bread of life and diving into that.  This is hitting home on many levels, but we are trying to find our church home here in Iowa and would love some prayers on wisdom and making a good decision out here.

All supplies are from PTI.  I used Rosie Posie and one of their stencils.  The card stock is all PTI stampers select white.  Enjoy your day (hopefully you are seeing some sunshine).

Instagram....

I have no idea why I am so reluctant to jump on the technology band wagon, but I am.  Once I get it I am all in.  It has been quiet around here due to that fact.  I have found instagram, if you would like to fine me there I am @terri.earley.cards  In the mean time, I will be posting more and creating to share on here as well.

I am really excited about busting out Rosie Posie again.  This was a stamp set that was well loved, but hasn't been used in a while.  The design team did a great series not too long ago and it had me wanting to create.

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome back!  I am pleased to have another creation for the Word Art Wednesday blog.  This was a fun verse and card to make.  I have been thinking about this one and it has hit home for sure.

I get into ruts and get caught up in my own world and need the reminder to lean on God so that my soul can find that rest and peace it so desires.
I'm still on the use up my pattern paper kick.  I think this is going to be one of my 2018 themes.  That along with use what you have before buying more!  This is all from Papertrey in.  I have been working with the Don't Forget to Write kit of Betsy's.  She packs so much into her kits, I haven't even scratched the surface of what is there.  Can't wait to keep creating.

Word Art Wednesday

Welcome!  We have been busy as a family these last two weeks!  We had our spring break and headed down to Nashville TN for a few days.  The girls had a wonderful time!

I am a bit late, but here is my Word Art Wednesday card.  This verse hit home this past week.  My cousin is having some trials with selling a home and this reminder will be so perfect for her and her family.

I made this with some Papertrey ink products and dies.  The verse is from the Word Art Wednesday blog.  I have a photo of my pattern paper problem on insta (terri.earley.cards).  I am bound and determined to use up a small portion of this paper "problem" LOL!  Does anyone else suffer from hoarding all of the pretty things?  I am determined that this will be the year to use it or lose it.  I have this thing with using the pretty papers, like they won't ever make more.  Shesh!

I'm so glad to be back and creating in the stamping room.  Can't wait to get some more fun cards up for you to see.

It's a good life!

Word art Wednesday

It's the end of January, isn't that crazy?  I'm still amazed at how quickly time goes by as an adult and how slowly it seems to go by to my kids.  It's time for another great Word Art Wednesday card and inspiration.

The scripture is another great one this week.  Again, I had to look up the message version.  It says "But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him."

I really liked how they put God put his love on the line.  I think about the parable with Abraham and how he was willing to offer up his son as a sacrifice in obedience to God.  There is a lot of room in my life for improvement and obeying God the first time and right away is definitely something I am working on right now.
For the card, I am still on a masking kick.  I made a mask using a papersmooches die that produced the nice curve for me.  I then sponged on a distress ink color and then kept working my way down.  Distress inks blend really nicely, so that was great to work with.  It is nice to go one layer and simple and still have a big bang for the buck.

It's a good life!

Transformation Tuesday

So, Papertrey Ink has started a new challenge (well it was a first challenge not sure if it will be happening all of the time).  It was about transforming an old card into something new.  Here is my entry.  I have cards from a long time ago, it has me thinking that I need to send the beauties out!  That is my personal challenge this year.

I found this one and immediately knew that I wanted to bust out the guidelines two stamp set.  I really enjoyed that one and it hasn't seen the light of day for ages.
Here is the new creation.  I used the color throwdown color challenge found here and the Global Design project sketch challenge found here.  I am also entering this cutie in the Simon Says Stamp make your own background challenge.  So, I used the same stamp set and the same mat stack die elements.  I made it a large card and rotated the and updated my embellishments from buttons to gold enamel and string.
This was a lot of fun to put together this morning.  I'm not 100% sure about the colors (it certainly stretched me).  I think the gold touches helped tie everything in and make it shine.

Missing you Altenew

Have you ever got "lost" in your craft room and just plain old neglected some stamps.  Well, that is exactly what happened to me.  I think I forgot how much I love creating with Altenew stamps.  The flowers are really amazing to stamp with.  You start off thinking this can't be right and then by the end you get goose bumps and think I can't believe that I actually created this.  I forgot that feeling, but let me tell you, it is back on!

Here is my card for the Altenew color challenge and this is also getting entered in the less is more dry embossing challenge.  Let's talk about Debby Hughes card for a second.  I have no idea how she colored that flower, but WOW!!!!  I used a pti wood embossing plate (have done that in a LONG time).  I then busted out my Altenew and went to town.  The flower just comes together like a champ.  I realized I didn't have any of the green inks, so it took me some time to find the right combo with what I had here.
I really loved creating this card.  In fact, I realized I need all of the new Altenew inks and many more stamp sets (we aren't even going to talk about the huge order I have sitting in my card).

Hello Color Throwdown

I had such a fun weekend creating, cleaning and getting the house ready for the snow much fun party tomorrow.  Yes, I think I will have 10 8 year olds at the house tomorrow for a 3 hour snow much fun party.  We are going to rock this!

This is the card I made for the Color Throw Down Challenge.  I'm sure you can guess, it was gray, green and lavender.  I was so disappointed in the PTI release ordering fiasco that I ended up not ordering anything from them and instead busting out what I have here already.  Let's not kid ourselves, I have  TON here already.  I think I am on a time out from PTI ordering for a while and instead focusing on other companies.  One of those is Altenew.  I ADORE their flowers and had the best time this weekend stamping away.

Here is what I came up with.  The label is another Altenew stamp set that I used glossy accents to cover to add a little something to the sentiment.
Here is a closer look at the background and flowers.  I splattered gray watercolor and also some silver to really add some fun to the card.  The center of the flowers is liquid pearls silver.  It really added a touch and some texture as well.

Global Design Project

I spent the week trying out this color comb form the global design blog.  It was a lot of fun, but at the same time a toughie.  I ended up with three colors and a few others that just mixed too much in the water coloring and read more rainbow then three distinct colors.
Here is the first card.  This water coloring went really well.  I had a little mix of course, but you can see each distinct challenge color.  I love how the bold sentiment pops with the black background.

Here is the second card.  It was water coloring again and paired well with the white and bright pop of pink.

This last one has my heart.  I adore it's unique quirky quality.  I am going to send this to a teen that I know is having a hard time.  It is such a tough age.
Well those are my creations this week.  Hope you have a great one.

It's a good life!

Twofer!

It is time for another twofer challenge, this really is one of my favorite challenges and really has me thinking about my stamps in a whole new way, which I LOVE.  This month it was to use hearts.  I did this after valentine's day, so I needed to get creative and bust out some non valentine's day cards.  The first with the alien, I actually did earlier and added the glassy accents and wink of stella pen to the balloon.
Now for card number two, It really is made with the heart.  I used distress inks and watercolored it to create the base of the flower.  For the outline of the flower, I used the heart stamp as a guide to manipulate the stitched border stamp.  I think it turned out fun.

Here is the finished card.

Here is a close up of the glossy detail that I added to the first card.

Lot's of photos this post.  You can tell it is a weekend and snowing so it is a craftery kinds of day!

Together we are a "small gang"

I had a lot of fun thinking of and creating this beauty.  Here is my card for two challenges.

The first is from CAS which has the challenge word together.  I combined this with Shop your stash challenge to use something unorthodox to stamp with.  I used the top of my water bottle because I have them all around all of the time.
I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.  Hope you enjoy!  I thought the Mama Elephant set worked great with the challenge.

Hello You

I have been following the Fab Friday blog for a while.  I'm glad to finally have a chance to play along.  The only thing I am going to add is glossy accents on the balloons.  All in all, this was a lot of fun.
Here is the close up of the fun monster.  I used black enamel on the eyes and mouth and it sure made it pop.
This is also apart of my twofer challenge that I will be posting tomorrow.

Throwback Thursday

So I have been inspired by the PTI retiring stamp set list and I am challenging myself to go down the list and use each stamp set that I have throughout the year.  So, here is the first one A Few Pointers Stamp Set.  I used the arrow from it and now that I have pulled it out and looked at it again, I am really excited to use all of this fun little sentiments in the future as well.
I made this for the PTI Anniversary color challenge.  I used Betsy's color combo.  I do want to create with that color combo again and bust out the watercolors next time.  I paired it up with the pen and ink stamp set.  It really was fun busting out a card mixing the old and new.  Can't wait to continue this series throughout the year.

Love you always....

Are all of you loving the PTI anniversary challenges?  It has been a lot of fun to be up creating.  Here is the card for today
This card is for the PTI Anniversary lines challenge and I am also entering this in the Paperplayers Challenge of red, white and kraft colors.

I just started instagram (terri.earley.cards) and that is just WOW!  I'm not sure where I have been all this time, but I am sure loving the inspiration.  I love all of the artist that are on there creating away.  I saw this background technique on there and I just got some new white gel pens so Boom!

Did anyone else see that there will be 11% off of all of the sales?  So excited and let the list keep growing :)

Put on Charity

I am so excited about this weeks post for Word Art Wednesday.  I was the guest designer last month and enjoyed it so much I was able to come on board as a full time monthly designer!  I didn't realize how much I enjoyed this and how much fun having an assignment was until I tried it.

This scripture was from Colossians 3:14.  I like the message version of this verse as well.  It says "And regardless of what else you put on, wear love.  It's your basic, all-purpose garment.  Never be without it."   This really speaks to me and middle school girl situations we are dealing with our oldest daughter.

Now for the card, I printed out the verse and tried to place it so that I could do a one layer card.  I have had masking and sponging on the brain lately, so this is what I ended up with.  I used my distress inks and really liked the end result.

I can't wait to buzz around and check out all of your blog and creations.  Also, if you have any wisdom for middle school power struggles in sports, this no sporty crafty Mom would love to hear about it!

Die Only PTI challenge

I'm excited about this beauty that I whipped up for the PTI anniversary die only challenge.

I had some materials sitting on my desk from the recent MIM challenge that I never got done.  I had tissue paper from Christmas, so I went ahead and cut it with with one of the A2 scalloped die sets.  I also used the big basics thanks die.  I will be snagging up more of these, love how easy it is to make a statement.  Izzy edged the tissue paper with a stitching detail for me.

PTI Transformation Tuesday!

It's Transformation Tuesday for PTI's anniversary challenge week.  The challenge was to take an old card and give it a remake.  I found this one a bit ago and thought it was cute, but I could see where it was dated as well.
I ended up making two cards out of one fun background.  I used the embossing and then water color technique for the background.  It was a lot of fun to do.

I was debating about adding some sequins, but I just wasn't sure.  What do you think?

It's a good life!

PTI Anniversary Sketch Challenge

It's the best month of the crafting year, PTI"s anniversary month.  It is snowy here, so the perfect time to stay inside and craft away.

This is for the PTI Sketch Challenge.  Here is my take on Betsy's card.  It was the most CAS card that I saw, so that is what I went with. I busted out a never before used set round repeats.  I'm really embarrassed that I have had it for so long sitting uninked.

Last Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

It has been my pleasure creating along with everyone this last month for the Word Art Wednesday blog.  I find such joy in reading, praying and creating with these Bible verses.  I'm so glad that I got out of my comfort zone and printed these off.  It has opened up a new world for me for sure.

This verse really resonates with me this week.  As I said before I am doing the Armor of God bible study here at home for the second time (it really is just that good).  She goes into each of the pieces of God's armor that he has given to us and how to use them.  I really loved this verse and how it reminds you that God is greater than anything in this world.
On to the card, I used PTI tulip  time stamp set.  Along with mix and mat pretty backet's die.  I can't believe that I have had both of those for so long and haven't used them.  (this is actually the first time I busted out the mix and mat die and those came out almost a year ago yikes!).

So I die cut the Auqa Mist front panel to have a fun cut out behind my tulip image.  For some reason this made me think about gardens, so I went with it.  I then die cut the tulip image and then stamped using my Misti.  I love the layered looks and with the MISTI tool they are much easier for me to achieve.  The verse was printed on PTI white cardstock and then I added a little floss to accent the flowers.
Right at the end, I thought it needed a little something more on the flowers, so I coated them with glossy accents and that gave it just the right finishing touch.

It's a good life!

Create Along with Us

I'm excited to finally get to particiapte in the create along with us Papertrey Ink challenge.  It has been a long time.  I was inspired by this card by Wanda.  I was inspired by the technique of coloring on the dark cardstock with colored pencils.
Papertrey Ink Warm Regards Stamp Set. Colored pencils on dark cardstock with white ink.PTI design team Wanda Guess
Here is my card.  I used inktense pencils and it was a lot of fun to put together.  I also bused out my doodlie do stamp set that has been long forgotten.  I paired it with the great new sentiment stamp set from PTI that has gone unused until today.

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

Happy Wednesday!  So excited you are able to stop by for another card for Word Art Wednesday.

I'm still on my mission to use what I have before buying more.  I have my eyes on some of the new Papertrey Ink goodies and Altenew as well, but I just can't justify anything new until I have used what I have here.  Please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem.

This verse this week was so beautiful.  There is always a reason to praise God, that is for sure.  When I read this verse and let it sink into my soul, I just kept thinking about flowers and new life.  I really enjoy sending bright flower cards in the winter, it gives hope and spreads joy.
Here are the details of the card.  I printed the verse from Word Art Wednesday on PTI white paper.  I then grabbed some PTI Aqua Mist card stock and die cut out a space for the verse to sit.  It was looking a little flat, so I grabbed a PTI stencil and added just a little bit of tone on tone color and design to the blue background panel.  Now it was time to embellish with flowers.  It was a lot of fun playing with Gran's Garden stamp set for the first time.  I now have a big pile of flowers die cut, stamped and ready for future cards.  I think I spent an hour just playing with color combinations and having a fun time.
I'm hoping in the close up you can see the shimmer that was added to the card with my wink of stella pen.  Love how that adds a little something without taking the card over the top.  The flowers are all popped up with dimensional adhesive as well.

It's a good life!
Terri E.

Stamps: PTI Gran's Garden, Verse is from Word Art Wednesday
Inks:  Many from Altenew and Simon Says  Stamp
Paper: PTI White and Aqua Mist
Dies: Gran's Garden, spellbinders shape die (I have no idea which one, they are from way back)

New Twofer Card Challenge

You know I love a good challenge.  I am so excited to have found the new twofer card challenge blog.  Such a neat idea and I really found it had me digging in my stash and thinking creatively about how to take one stamp set and make it work.  Here is what I came up with

The challenge this month was feathers.  I scoured through my stamp sets and found a few that will work.  My plan is to do another two cards with another feather stamp set and enter again.  I didn't know I had so many unloved feather stamps LOL!  Today I decided to focus on the PTI February year in psalms stamp set.  It is a little $5 set that packs a lot of punch.
I went a little backgound crazy when working on a MIM challenge to use stencils to emboss.  I really liked the shine and shimmer it gave to the card.  It made the sentiment and feathers pop without a lot of fuss.  Below is a close up of the feathers.  I used wink of stella and then covered them with gloss accents.  It just makes the card so special.
A happy hello is featured in this blog post so, I won't go into much detail here
Thanks for visiting and the fun new challenge.

A happy hello - Less is More

This card was created with two challenges in mind.  It is for the less is more purple challenge and also the Twofer Card Challenge which I will actually talk about later this week.  For today, we will dive into this card.

This is a purple challenge and needless to say that is hard for me for some reason.  It just isn't a color that I gravitate to frequently.  I used the feathers from PTI's year of psalms February and the sentiment is from paper smooches.

I finished the card by adding some wink of stella to the leaves and a little sequin detail for some shine.

It's a good life!

PTI MIM

Welcome back for PTI's MIM about embossing with stencils.  I had a lot of fun with this and have a few other cards that will be posted later in the week with more examples.

Today I wanted to share this one.  I had a big old pile of Gran's Gardens flowers that I had made a while back and thought lets put some to good use.  I used a PTI stencil and embossed just the bottom right hand corner to accent my images.
This card will also be used in the Shopping our stash challenge what's old is new.  The sentiment is from PTI the skinny and it is the first time I busted out that stamp set that I got ages ago.  I am working hard this year on using what I have and making sure stamp sets are well loved :)
The next two cards were actually from last weeks MIM that I never posted, so I thought why not add them here.  I really had a good time visiting this technique and loved Laurie's card so I cased it and had a ball.
It's a good life!

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

Welcome and Happy New Year!  I'm so excited to be participating in the Word Art Wednesday blog as the January guest designer.  I love a lot of things about this challenge blog, but what I love the most is how uplifting all of the cards and people are.  You just can't go wrong sharing God's word.

Here is my card for the first challenge of the New Year.  This scripture really hint home with me.  I finished my first round of the Armor of God bible study (I say first round because it was so good and deep that I am doing it again on my own starting today!).  Such a fantastic study that really challenges and teaches how to put on the armor of God and how to let Him work through you and right the battles on your behalf.  It is worth checking out if you haven't already.
Now onto the card.  One of my craft resolutions this year is to use the things that I have already.  I have had the Papertrey Ink Mountain Majesty Cover Plate for far too long and today is was the day.  I busted out the water colors and got to work on the background and the cover plate die cut.  I don't typically use computer printed images, so this was another element of the challenge for me this week.  I printed it out and then die cut the sentiment from the same die.  It isn't perfectly centered, but I am so happy with the end results.

Because I needed to print out the sentiment, I couldn't use my watercolor paper for the background or die cut.  It worked, but I do want to try it again with watercolor paper to see what results I get.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!

It's a good life!
