MOM

Well I am back with a fun new to me color cue challenge. You all know how I feel about challenges LOL! I also used a stamp tv sketch, but I missed entering this beauty LOL!
Here is my creation
Didn't it turn out fun? I bused out my outline alphabet from Stampin Up for the fun center pannel. The butterflies are from that cute little sizzlet that SU sells as well. The color combo was giving me a bit of a challenge, but I really like the end card.
This one is heading to Virginia to my mother in law. I think she will like it.
It's a good life!

The best one yet

I am so excited to share this card. I made it for a Colour Q challenge quite a bit ago. I just haven't shared it yet.
I saw these scallops on one of the PTI girls cards and had been dying to try it. For some reason I had a harder time lining up the scallops than I would have thought. Love this color combo! It was bermuda bay, certain celery, lovely lilac, almost amthyist. I had to have the dot theme through out the card, it was just too much fun.

The downside of sissors!

I haven't put some Izzy updates recently, so here is what we learned on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Izzy loves to stamp with me and she has her own desk and supplies. On that desk she had a pair of Izzy sissors that she uses when crafting. Well, Saturday night was supposed to be her first night in her big girl room since we are leaving the baby's room for the new baby.

All is well that night and I go to check on her and I see this on the floor by the bed.
I look to the bed and I see no Izzy, but this on her pillow.
I quickly head across the hall and find this little one sound asleep in her bed with half of her hair cut off on the top of her head. Yikes!!!!! Okay she kind of woke up from the flash and I asked her why she cut her hair. She said she was hot. What???????
The next morning I made Izzy pick up all of the hair and she took a bath. Here is the after shot with the hair in the bag. I made a quick SOS call to the gal who cuts Izzy's hair and she thankfully helped out on her Sunday morning.
Here we are at Kim's house getting the hair to have some look. At this time, Izzy is telling both of us that she likes short hair and meant to cut it.
The after shot
We were greeters at church that morning, so off we went. Now, Izzy is a hair twirler when she is stressed. So right in the middle of church during the joys and concerns section, Izzy looks to me and says, "Mom, I really want my long hair back!" (She figured out that she can't twirl shor hair that well) Thankfully my Mom was right there and they had a little talk. The next thing I know Izzy is on my lap and raising her hand with her concern. She says to the pastor, "Could we pray that got would grow my hair back really quick. I cut my long hair with my sicssors and now I want it back." Needless to say the whole church was cracking up, but she was very serrious.
It is never a dull moment around here!
It's a good life!

PTI Blog Hop time!!!!!

Well it has been a long time since I was able to play along with the PTI blog hop. I am so excited to share. The challenge this month was to incorporate tissue paper into the project. I used the tissue paper that came with my new stamps this month. It is fun to reuse on projects.

I was one of the lucky ones who got Enjoy the Ride and the die that coordinates. Where have these dies and matching sets been all of my life, LOL! All joking aside, I am such a convert the cutting time that is saved is fabulous.

Here is the fun card
Also a close up of the car details
I made this for my cousin who is getting married in June. It is actually 8 days after my c-section, so I know I will not be crafting then. This was wonderful motivation to get her fun card done ahead of time. I used the tissue paper for the cloud and then in the car. I thought it could be the veil with some bling to mimic the veil. Isn't that a fun detail.
Of course, I had to have the cans trailing the happy couple as well. I used a whole punch to punch from silver metal paper and then glue dotted them down to the floss. It was really fun to put this together and I am sure she will adore this fun card. On a side note, I got to help make all of the invites, so these are also her wedding colors (okay the eggplant envy, new leaf and basic grey) so this will be even more special.
I can't wait to see all of the wonderful eye candy tonight.
It's a good life!

Love of a father

I am always late with this color challenge, but it is such great inspiration I had to use it. There should be another fun color challenge tomorrow if you would like to check it out you can do that here.
Here is my card.
This is a one layer card for Kristina's challenge. Isn't that fun? I did a TON of masking, but it really is neat to see in person. Everything else is stamps. The shape is the top notes die for my mask. I then used the new little argyle stamp set to create the pattern on the bottom. I thought it needed a little ribbon for the center, but since it is a one layer card, I went with more masking. The sentiment is from father knows best. It will work well for one of the Dads. This also works really well with the PPA kiss challenge this week.
Look for another fun post tomorrow. I am going to have a card for the PTI blog hop!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I am so excited to finally get some fun stamping time! I have been working on my cards for Mother's Day and Father's Day since the baby is coming in the beginning of June. I am so sorry there will be a lot of those in the near future.

I have combined some fun challenges for this card. The first is from Colour Q. These colors were tough for me, but I do love the end result.
When ever I have a tough color combo it seems I am drawn to clean and simple sketches. This was perfect for this week's Clean and Simple sketch.
On to my card
A close up of the flower element.
Finally I was able to put this flower together with the Stamping Sisters in Christ flower challenge. I really wanted to bling it up and add the fun button and ribbon element. Don't you love the new PTI dies? it sure makes the flowers and really every image they have a matching set for shine. I must also admit that the less cutting I have to do the better LOL! Do you see the fun background? It is the first impression plate that I have purchased from PTI and I love it. I couldn't get all the sets I wanted this month, so I went with the plate for the wood grain. Now that I have it the set is on the list as well.

Happy Anniversary

Well, this is a card that has been in my file for some time. It was for a color challenge, but I couldn't tell you what one LOL! Speaking of PTI, did any of you get your new orders in? I just got mine yesterday and the new argile set is to die for. It might even be my new favorite. That is sure something that PTI knocks out of the park every time!

Guidelines 2 is the set I used to make this background and it is another go to of mine. I also realized today that I am going to need to get all of my father's day cards done as well since that will be just a few days after the baby comes. Hopefully I will have lots of fun new eye candy for all of you soon!

It's a good life!

Happy Mother's Day

2 days in a row!!!!! I know it is like the blog from old LOL! I am on a mad dash to get all of my mother's day cards done ahead of time. I also have to get on the ball with baby announcements as well. Any way, I used the CPS sketch for this card. I also really liked the finally friday challenge this week form Kristina Werner.
Here is my creation
Didn't that turn out fun? I really life the fun paper flowers. My big tip is to use score tape rather than all of the glue dots. It held and looks great. I don't remember the name of the dsp, but is in the spring mini catalog with a group of 24 pages. I really need to bust these papers out more often.

Happy Mother's Day

I am finally getting around to not only putting some fun cards together, but also getting then uploaded LOL! I have combined a few challenges for this beauty. The first is the color challenge from Colour Q.
And this fun sketch from the fun Clean and Simple challenge
Finally here is my creation.
Isn't this card tons of fun! I made this beauty for one of Izzy's Great Grandma's. I used the fun cut out flowers from PTI and then stamped the great flowers to add some pop. The white/ruby red piece was popped up with stampin dimensionals. I added the bling to the center of each flower for some pop.

Celebrate!

Well I have pleanty to be thankful for! First of all I am about 7 1/2 weeks from delivering my little one. That in itself is such a praise for me. Next, I have a new computer. As any of you can imagine, getting everything transfered over is quite the undertaking. This is a a big reason for my absence.

I was able to order some goodies last month from Papertrey Ink and I am loving this fun card that I made for my cousin's wedding shower. The new Hawiian Shores color is to die for if you ask me LOL!

The background is the dimaonds background basics in white and then I cut out the flowers in vellum using the new die cuts. I must say those are so wonderful! I adore that they are customizing their stamps and dies to make our lives easier.
I have a close up of the flower
It was simple, yet sheek. The little button added so much dimension and personality. Needless to say I am off to work on Izzy's new princess room. We are keeping the nursary the same and letting Izzy pick out her new room. It is VERY pink, but she adores it and that is what is important. We are also getting her playground next week, so tons of fun things are happening at our home. I will try and get some fun pictures up when I have it all together.
It's a good life!
