Last Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

It has been my pleasure creating along with everyone this last month for the Word Art Wednesday blog.  I find such joy in reading, praying and creating with these Bible verses.  I'm so glad that I got out of my comfort zone and printed these off.  It has opened up a new world for me for sure.

This verse really resonates with me this week.  As I said before I am doing the Armor of God bible study here at home for the second time (it really is just that good).  She goes into each of the pieces of God's armor that he has given to us and how to use them.  I really loved this verse and how it reminds you that God is greater than anything in this world.
On to the card, I used PTI tulip  time stamp set.  Along with mix and mat pretty backet's die.  I can't believe that I have had both of those for so long and haven't used them.  (this is actually the first time I busted out the mix and mat die and those came out almost a year ago yikes!).

So I die cut the Auqa Mist front panel to have a fun cut out behind my tulip image.  For some reason this made me think about gardens, so I went with it.  I then die cut the tulip image and then stamped using my Misti.  I love the layered looks and with the MISTI tool they are much easier for me to achieve.  The verse was printed on PTI white cardstock and then I added a little floss to accent the flowers.
Right at the end, I thought it needed a little something more on the flowers, so I coated them with glossy accents and that gave it just the right finishing touch.

It's a good life!

Create Along with Us

I'm excited to finally get to particiapte in the create along with us Papertrey Ink challenge.  It has been a long time.  I was inspired by this card by Wanda.  I was inspired by the technique of coloring on the dark cardstock with colored pencils.
Papertrey Ink Warm Regards Stamp Set. Colored pencils on dark cardstock with white ink.PTI design team Wanda Guess
Here is my card.  I used inktense pencils and it was a lot of fun to put together.  I also bused out my doodlie do stamp set that has been long forgotten.  I paired it with the great new sentiment stamp set from PTI that has gone unused until today.

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

Happy Wednesday!  So excited you are able to stop by for another card for Word Art Wednesday.

I'm still on my mission to use what I have before buying more.  I have my eyes on some of the new Papertrey Ink goodies and Altenew as well, but I just can't justify anything new until I have used what I have here.  Please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem.

This verse this week was so beautiful.  There is always a reason to praise God, that is for sure.  When I read this verse and let it sink into my soul, I just kept thinking about flowers and new life.  I really enjoy sending bright flower cards in the winter, it gives hope and spreads joy.
Here are the details of the card.  I printed the verse from Word Art Wednesday on PTI white paper.  I then grabbed some PTI Aqua Mist card stock and die cut out a space for the verse to sit.  It was looking a little flat, so I grabbed a PTI stencil and added just a little bit of tone on tone color and design to the blue background panel.  Now it was time to embellish with flowers.  It was a lot of fun playing with Gran's Garden stamp set for the first time.  I now have a big pile of flowers die cut, stamped and ready for future cards.  I think I spent an hour just playing with color combinations and having a fun time.
I'm hoping in the close up you can see the shimmer that was added to the card with my wink of stella pen.  Love how that adds a little something without taking the card over the top.  The flowers are all popped up with dimensional adhesive as well.

It's a good life!

New Twofer Card Challenge

You know I love a good challenge.  I am so excited to have found the new twofer card challenge blog.  Such a neat idea and I really found it had me digging in my stash and thinking creatively about how to take one stamp set and make it work.  Here is what I came up with

The challenge this month was feathers.  I scoured through my stamp sets and found a few that will work.  My plan is to do another two cards with another feather stamp set and enter again.  I didn't know I had so many unloved feather stamps LOL!  Today I decided to focus on the PTI February year in psalms stamp set.  It is a little $5 set that packs a lot of punch.
I went a little backgound crazy when working on a MIM challenge to use stencils to emboss.  I really liked the shine and shimmer it gave to the card.  It made the sentiment and feathers pop without a lot of fuss.  Below is a close up of the feathers.  I used wink of stella and then covered them with gloss accents.  It just makes the card so special.
A happy hello is featured in this blog post so, I won't go into much detail here
Thanks for visiting and the fun new challenge.

A happy hello - Less is More

This card was created with two challenges in mind.  It is for the less is more purple challenge and also the Twofer Card Challenge which I will actually talk about later this week.  For today, we will dive into this card.

This is a purple challenge and needless to say that is hard for me for some reason.  It just isn't a color that I gravitate to frequently.  I used the feathers from PTI's year of psalms February and the sentiment is from paper smooches.

I finished the card by adding some wink of stella to the leaves and a little sequin detail for some shine.

PTI MIM

Welcome back for PTI's MIM about embossing with stencils.  I had a lot of fun with this and have a few other cards that will be posted later in the week with more examples.

Today I wanted to share this one.  I had a big old pile of Gran's Gardens flowers that I had made a while back and thought lets put some to good use.  I used a PTI stencil and embossed just the bottom right hand corner to accent my images.
This card will also be used in the Shopping our stash challenge what's old is new.  The sentiment is from PTI the skinny and it is the first time I busted out that stamp set that I got ages ago.  I am working hard this year on using what I have and making sure stamp sets are well loved :)
The next two cards were actually from last weeks MIM that I never posted, so I thought why not add them here.  I really had a good time visiting this technique and loved Laurie's card so I cased it and had a ball.

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

Welcome and Happy New Year!  I'm so excited to be participating in the Word Art Wednesday blog as the January guest designer.  I love a lot of things about this challenge blog, but what I love the most is how uplifting all of the cards and people are.  You just can't go wrong sharing God's word.

Here is my card for the first challenge of the New Year.  This scripture really hint home with me.  I finished my first round of the Armor of God bible study (I say first round because it was so good and deep that I am doing it again on my own starting today!).  Such a fantastic study that really challenges and teaches how to put on the armor of God and how to let Him work through you and right the battles on your behalf.  It is worth checking out if you haven't already.
Now onto the card.  One of my craft resolutions this year is to use the things that I have already.  I have had the Papertrey Ink Mountain Majesty Cover Plate for far too long and today is was the day.  I busted out the water colors and got to work on the background and the cover plate die cut.  I don't typically use computer printed images, so this was another element of the challenge for me this week.  I printed it out and then die cut the sentiment from the same die.  It isn't perfectly centered, but I am so happy with the end results.

Because I needed to print out the sentiment, I couldn't use my watercolor paper for the background or die cut.  It worked, but I do want to try it again with watercolor paper to see what results I get.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a fantastic day!

It's a good life!
