Good times

The baby count down is nearing an end. I have 2 more days to go LOL! One of the things that has been fun in an odd way is that my feet are so swollen that I am camped out inside and my hubby has had some time off, so I have had some great stamping time. It has been fun getting some projects done.

I was inspired by all of the great summer projects over on the Verve blog for their sizzlin' summer fun release. They challenged everyone to make a summer project. Well, my only projects have been my cousins wedding or new baby, so it was fun to pull out some bright colors and summer it up. I never seem to have a thank you card for hostesses when I need them, so I thought this would work out so well.
I combined this with the sketch from the Paper Crafts Connection blog.
Here is my card
Simple, but sweet. I have been really inspired to let the dsp shine. I have a tendancy to keep adding and adding, so this has been a fun little challenge for me to work on. I am not sure of the name of this paper, but it was the pack that I won from the Colour Q challenge. It came right from Stampin Up and it is Fabulous!!!!
Hopefully everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend with family and friends.
It's a good life!

Love Ya Sugar

Well I am back with another Viva La Verve May challenge. Here was the inspiration room I choose.
Here is the sketch
My take on the challenge
Well I was drawn to that yellow color and the fun cherries. It is hard to see in this photo, but this is early bird paper and it the background has that same yellow fell. I also had the stickers that went with it and used this fun arrow for my sentiment. The sugar jar and the text background were both found on the paper page that has fun blocks you can cut out.

Thanks Chickie!

I have been on a card making kick! Izzy wasn't in preschool yet, but we still have things ending and we need to thank those that have been so sweet to her these past months. I love this CPS sketch for the week
I combined it with the Colour Q challenge
To get this fun card
I am going to give this to her ballet teacher Ms Emily. She is such a doll and Izzy really likes going. She is pregnant as well, so we are going to give her an Old Navy card so she can get maternity clothes or baby clothes.
I adore these little chickies and Izzy had a fun time picking the colors to go on each button. As I write this Izzy is saying it is the cutiest card ever LOL! Nothing like gratification from a 3 year old.

Embellish clean and simple

I have been needing to craft lately. I think it is because the new baby will be here in a week and I need to keep busy. So I finally made some time to get the embellish challenge done. It has been too long, but I was really excited about using butterflies for some reason LOL!
I paired it with the Clean and Simple sketch. I'm not sure how clean and simple my card is, but it worked well with the sketch LOL!
Here is my card
Well after last night looking at all of the different ways to use felt, I just knew that I had to break into some of my other colors that I have been "saving" from PTI. It really is a nice product and it does add such a fun dimension to the card.
I found this dsp from SU in my stash. I am determined to use some of this fun product I keep collecting LOL! It was kraft and black, so perfect for this challenge. The butterflies are die cut with the top notes butterfly die and the sizzlets butterfly die as well. I liked the duo of butterflies.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge!!!!

I am so excited about tonight's PTI felt challenge blog hop. It was great inspiration for my baby announcements. I am having a c-section in in 8 days and we don't know the sex of the baby, but I wanted to have the majority of my announcement done. The pictures you see are my daughter when she was a little one, but I had to have something for the effect LOL! My plan it to put a picture of the new baby and Izzy together on the front of the card.

Here is the front. I used blue since I had that on hand, but it will be raspberry fizz if it is a girl LOL! The sentiment is from the tiny valentines set. I was going to put a regular button, but the shipping would be crazy on the 100 that I have to do, so the felt was a great solution. I cut out a 1" circle and then stiched the center. It was harder than I thought it would be to stich through the felt. If you have any suggestions on how to do that easier, I would love to hear!!!!!
This is the inside
It is a die from Stampin Up, but not sure of the name of it. It is a pop up and we are going to put a picture of just the new baby so that everyone will have a wallet picture. The blank space will be printed on white with all of the new baby details when we know them LOL!
I can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations!

Viva La Verve Week 2

Okay here is the sketch for the second week challenge.
The inspriation piece
My card
I made this for a graduation party we had to go to. I think it turned out cute as can be and I think it will work for the young man who just graduated. I used PTI goodies that I hadn't in a while. I am waiting for my new goodies to arrive and I must say this is the longest I have ever had to wait for PTI. Wowziers.

VIVA La VERVE!!!

After taking a few months off, I am bound and determined to finish this month and get them loaded to the blog and SCS LOL! Here is the first weeks challenge in May
This is the inspiration piece
My card
I was really loving all of the different patterens and colors found in the picture, so I went with that. I am also on a use it or loose it kick, so this all came from a scrapbook kit that SU sells. Not sure of the name, but it has the cute birds. I have a bridal shower today that I won't be going to because I also have an open house for the same time, so at least I got to make and send a cute card.

Thank you

I really liked the color combo this week on scrapmaster's paradies and knew I just had to play along.
Here is my card
It was so hard to get the wood grain impression background on the white layer. It looks fun in real life. It was also a challenge getting the crushed curry to fade, but I really like the end result. The U is a foam thicker and I think the ribbon added just the right touch for me. I did enter this in the Gallery Idol contest, but that is just for fun LOL!

Birthday Wishes

This is for a few challenges the first is the fun sketch from EBTKS and the other is the Finally Friday challenge.
Here is my card
Okay I must say the Stampin Up color shake up has taught me to quite hoarding dsp!!!!! Luckily I found this fun sketch, which lent itself to dsp and then the finally friday challenge which was to use supplies you haven't used in a while. Well that was easy! I haven't used this dsp ever I think and the punch from SU was another thing I had never used on a card. I added stickles which is another fun thing that just sits on my desk.

Card Patterns

Well I found this fun sketch at card patterns and thougt it would work well for a Dad card I had in mind
Here is my card
I had to hold it so you could see the fun scallop border that opens to the inside of the card. I haven't done this a lot, but it was fun. I used October Afternoon dsp and some fun thickers letters. Love that ribbon as well, it is SU gray satin ribbon. I have had it for a while and just busted it open. I have no idea why I didn't do that sooner, LOL!

EEEEEKKKKK!!!

Well I was helping my cousin finish up her wedding invites and when I got home, look what I found.
I am a colour Queen this week. Isn't that too much fun. Not only that, but my challenge blog buddy Betty and I also won the pack of dsp. It is just a fabulous day all around. Hope you all make it a good one as well.

Hi There!

I am super excited about this post today. There was a great challenge on Colour Q that was not only a super fun color challenge, but also a wonderful charge to challenge a friend to do the color combo with you. Well I just knew that Betty was the right gal for me. She always is so cheerful and wonderful on every blog and stamping forum I see her on. Love that! Anyway, here is the color challenge
I combined it with the CPS sketch challenge this week
Here is Betty's take on the color combo. Isn't it wonderful how she used the colors for these fabulous fish! I also love how she decorated the inside of the card as well. I always leave that part blank what a slacker I am LOL!
Here is my take on the challenge
A close up of the buttons and ribbon element.
What do you think? Isn't the idea to stamp with a friend tons of fun? I love how we each look at color combos differently. I had to use the PTI anniversay set that just came out. It is so much fun. I just love these little flowers. I got the idea to do the buttons on the bow from Betsy's ribbon video she put together for the PTI senior design challenge. I always learn so much from those talented ladies!

MOM

I adored this color combo, so even though it is over, I had to use this to make one of my mother's day card.
Here is my creation
What do you think? I used the PTI flower die for the background flowers and then punched out circles for the centers. Izzy and I then used snow white ink to dull the always artichoke color. The ribbon accents were a fun touch. The letters are pink chipboard and a ton of fun as well.

Celebrate Today

Well another fun Cosmo Cricket challenge. I decided to make a fun card for my Grandma for mothers day. I used this great color combo and the JUGS sketch below for a jumping off point. The sketch
Here is my card
I have no idea why everything looks so crooked in this picture, but it sure does. I busted out my new Papertrey Ink anniversary set for this one. Why I didn't buy the die that coordinates, I will never know but that will be fixed in a few days LOL!
I thought the colors worked well with this fun little bird. Izzy loved it so much that she had to make a fun card for her Dad who came home from his outage today!!! She colored it and then had to have pearls just like Mom and then had to have purple ones none the less.
We are so excited to have the hubby home. I am going to cute the chatting short today.

Happy unisex Birthday

I am back with a fun card that I made combining 2 challenges. The first is from Clean and Simple sketch challenge #88. The second challenge was the Finally Friday challenge to make a unisex card. I think this will work for that. What a good idea it is to have a stack. Mine has been depleted, but I can't wait to start working on building it up again.
Here is my card
Isn't that fun? I had my cosmo cricket papers out, so I used some of those. I actually purchased material girl in the normal 12X12 pack and then I got 2 of the 6X6 packets for the other lines. These are papers from that line. I thought the numbers worked and the colors are going to work for anyone. The ribbon is crushed curry polka dot ribbon backwards so that it is just plain grosgrain. I love it when a ribbon has more than one look.

Moms Page

Thank goodness for the Cosmo Cricket national scrapbooking day challenge! I really thought Mother's Day was in 2 weeks not one. I try to make my Mom & Dad scrapbook pages for holidays, so I needed some scrap inspiration. Here is what I found below.
Here is my page
So sorry about the picture, it hasn't been very sunny around here. I was bound and determined to use my Cosmo Cricket since it was their challenge. I must say I have all the new collections and I hadn't busted them out until today! The shame!!!!
Needless to say, I made three projects with them and have more in mind for the rest of the week. I love when you finally bust into a pack how the ideas start to flow. Oh, this is also for the Stamp TV color challenge as well. You were supposed to pick out colors from the ruler paper on your project. I think since I used only materials from that collection, I am good LOL!

CPS Cutie!

Well I have a fun card to share today. It stated with the challenge to use 5 things from your desk to make a card. If anyone could see my desk you would know I could do this challenge 20 times over and still have too much on my desk LOL!

I paired that challenge with the CPS sketch challenge found here.
Here is my card
I acutally had all of these pieces left over from Izzy's birthday invitation last year. Isn't that funny! 9 months later and there is still a pile of left overs on my desk. Note to self, I need to do this much more often! not only did I use this cutie little girl, but it was super quick since all of the coloring and cutting was already done.
Hope you have a blessed day! We are off to a Jump House birthday party and then tomorrow we are heading up to Rockford to see the hubbs. We are going to do some letterboxing as a family and Izzy is so super excited.
It's a good life!
