Happy wishes

Well, I have been a little lax about uploading fun Izzy pictures lately and I have the perfect ones to share with the card today. My cousin Katie is having a baby and she is due 6-7 weeks before me. Izzy and I have been working on a big project for Katie's baby shower.

We are going to be giving individual cupcakes as take home gifts for every attendant who comes. I will share more about this fun project when we get closer to the day, but Izzy has been helping along the way. A few days ago, I decided to put everything together since the shower is 1 1/2 weeks away. Izzy came down the stairs the next morning and saw in her words "the most beautiful sight in the world". Isn't that a hoot? You would have thought it was Christmas morning with her reaction. I must say it is nice to have a little one that impressed by stamping things, it does make you proud of all the work you have done LOL!!!

Anyway here are our 6 in the morning pictures of the boxes. Oh, did I mention I got a fabulous Christmas gift this year. My hubby got me a Nikon D5000!!! Wahoooooo!!!! I have been wanting a camera upgrade for some time and I must say I am not disappointed. Even with little knowledge the level of my pictures has increased so much already. I am now on the hunt for a good online class to develop my skills. I have a few ideas, but if you have any suggestions, fell free to leave them in the comments below.
This is the best smile I get at 6 in the morning LOL!
Finally onto the card. I made this for a few challenges and have been waiting to show you as it was Katie's birthday card and I didn't want her seeing it before it got to her, LOL!
Isn't this a fun card? I adore the way the mittens turend out and I am really looking forward to pulling them out again soon. The background was something fun, just some punched out squares with roughed up edges. I liked how it added just a little bit of dimension without overtaking the whole card.
It's a good life!

Love You

Have you checked out the Stamp TV challenges? If not, you really should. Not only are they tons of fun and 5 days a week, but every challenge they give away a free stamp set to a random winner. Can you beleive how generous Gina K is??? All you have to do is stamp and you have the chance to win some great sets. LOVE IT!!!!! Okay enough gooshing LOL, here is the sketch for the last week.
Here is my card.
Isn't that little monkey the cutest? I colored him in on GKD pure luxury 80lb cardstock. I am still learning my copics, but it is getting a little easier to work with them the more I do it. There is hope for the average colorer LOL! I used floss for the balloon strings and it really seems to add some dimension.
The fun polkadot ribbon is from PTI, the stiching just seemed to tie everything in. This is one of my 8 cards going to the cards for kids drive. I think I am going to be missing the Jan drive, but it is on going, so hopefully I can hit next months group and send them some fun valentines day cards.
In the midst of all of this, I realized I haven't made Izzy's or my hubbys cards yet. I need to get on that quickly. I am done with their shopping, but still need some goodies.

Wool you be mine?

It's that time again! I haven't been able to play with the blog hop for a few months, but I am so excited to have something to share tonight.
The challenge was to create a card that was decorated on the inside and out. I usually stamp a sentiment on the inside, so this was fun to take it a step further with some decorating as well. It was a challenge to photograph this well. Here is the front
The card sitting on it's own
The inside
It worked out great that this was also a Moxie Fab challenge, so I will be submitting this beauty on that blog as well. I really liked the way it all came together. For the sentiment I used a coluzzle to make the circle cut out.
This card is part of a group that I am working on to send to the cards for kids drive found here. We are going to have them off by Wednesday, so I have 6 more valentines cards to make. I am so glad to have set this goal as it seems I have quite a few qutie valentines sets that don't always see a lot of love. I can't wait to play more with this fabulous set.

Nuts for you

Well this is my last big push to get some fun cards made for the cards for the cards for kids campaign. The deadline is for the end of the month. There are 8 kids and I want to send fun valentines day cards to each. I have 2 made right now and hopefully I will get the other 6 made by Wednesday. That is my deadline in my head.

I used the Verve challenges in January to make 4 different valentines day cards that you will be seeing throughout the week. The Viva La Verve challenges this year are all going to have a picture of the home and a sketch. This is the picture I piced out for this week.

The sketch that goes with it
My creation
Didn't that turn out fun? I really like how the buttons went throughout the card. I think this little cutie can work for any age child. I hope they like it as well. Oh, this was for a Stamp TV color challenge as well. It was to have colors of winter that inspire you. I don't know about you, but in the winter we are inside a lot. My bedroom is so cuddly with it's chocolate chip, kraft, red and vanilla, that this really worked for me.

80!!!!!

I am so excited to share the card I made for Randy's grandma Avis who just turned 80. We just got to see her right after Christmas and she is quite a doll! I only hope I have as much energy when I turn 80.
This is a fun card and it was just as much fun to make. It has a black base that I embossed with irrodecent embossing powder. I wanted it to look like a fun stary night. This was made with the Finally Friday challenge in mind as well, which was to use black on the card. I know it isn't a normal way to use it, but it I think it turned out fun.

The ice berg that our hippo is on is also all kinds of sparkly. Thank goodness we can be creative in a card, because I am really not that sure when a hippo would ever be on an ice berg, but he is now LOL! I also loved the floss detail on the balloons. It really added a neat element.

It's a good life!

Trust the Lord

I have been having fun creating these past few days. I got all of the Verve release challenges done, but couldn't upload them at Splitcoast for some reason. Oh well! So this used a Verve sketch and the SPCC that you see below.
Here is my card
Now while I was thinking about this sketch and that bright orange, I watched Kristina's Finally Friday video and knew I needed to do a fun flower. I had watched Dawn's video on her fluffy flowers and wanted to give it a try for some time, so this worked out really good.
I used kraft and brown as accent colors, so I hope that is okay. I have just started spounging with my nesties and I really like the fun border it gave. Don't look too hard as it is my first try in a long time and my frame kept slipping.
I also wanted to show you an up-close shot of the flower. I stamped and spounged on the back of PTI designer paper because it is white on the back side. I wanted to make my own dsp, but I didn't want to have white showing with the back of the flower. As you can see I have the brown star patteren.
It's a good life!

Hugabug

Oh my has it been a busy weekend. We had a celebration for my friend Kim who has breast cancer at age 34. My heart goes out to her and her family.

I was also able to make a card based on a CPS card sketch that you can see below and a challenge from JoAnne. You can find JoAnne challenge here. You could use all of her favorites or pick a few. I think this will also work well for the GKD color challenge this week.
Here is the card
I busted out my watercoloring supplies after seeing her fabulous tutorial on it. I must say letting it dry completely was the key. Can you see what happened when I got really impatient? Yes the little hearts at the side of the image had color that went out.
Hence the pink hightlights on the outside of the hugabug. Another thing you could add was stiching. I have no idea why I am not busting out my sewing machiene, but I went for the faux stiching. It was also tons of fun to pick out some buttons to finish off the sketch.

You are not alone!

This was a fun project I put together for PPA challenge this week. Isn't the picture so inspiring!
Here is the bag I created
This was actually a quick project thanks to Stampin Up's fun bags. I just had to put this together and then add the ribbon and tag. So much fun! I think this will be for my Grandma over Valentines Day holiday. She will like this and it is also fun for her to have yummys to munch on.

Heart U

Well I am back with another fun Color Challenge from Moxie Fab World. This was such fun to think about. Here are the colors you could use and they did say to use only those colors.
Here is my card
I think it is stinking cute if you asked me LOL! I am usually a normal A2 card size kind of girl, but Kristina had a finally friday challenge over at 2peasinabucket that was making smaller sized cards. I had to give it a try. Valentines is the perfect time for this since I try and leave little notes for the hubby anyway.
I also combined the Verve release week challenge of using chipboard. The card is a 3.5x7 size of whisper white folded in half. I then took the PTI heart prints set and stamped a patteren of hearts finshing it with the white chipboard U. This simple card really hit my creative spot today.

Cabbage???

I am sure all of you know about the Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World Blog. I have been a stalker for a while and took the plunge a few weeks ago. This week was so much fun I just couldn't resist. Who would have thought cabbage could be so much fun and so inspiring. Here is the picture I coupled this with the CPS sketch
Here is the results
Okay before I get to the details, I have to say this card was also inspired by Heather's PTI blog post. She is amazing with kraft and I loved the effect she achieved with the new PTI inks and a brayer, so I had to give it a try. You can see her post here.

As you know PTI has not updated their purples yet, so I had to use my colorbox chalk que inks to get the different purple hues. I did the purple first and then the green and the PTI ink was a dream with the brayer. I am sure I will be trying this many more times to come. After brayering I stamped the polka dots from PTI thinking they might look like stars, but I think it actually looks like snow. The tree is from father knows best another pti set.
I then emobssed the sentiment from with sympathy. The little strips are the purple brayered on kraft again and then the pti set background basics diamonds for the finish look. It was finished with some direct to paper snow white.
It's a good lfie!

KWerner Color combo is back!!!

Okay the color combo is only back for the moment, but it was so much fun. As you see below, she really went out of her way to challenge all of us! (Okay maybe not all of us, but a challenge for me for sure that is a lot of colors!) I also wanted to tackle the Mojo Monday sketch again. Can you even beleive it has been two weeks in a row? Super fun!!!

Here is my card.
Well what do you think? Now I must say that one of my favorite sets right now is the everyday button bits. I do have the new flower button set, but I haven't really busted that one out. Even though I use it a lot, this is the first time I have busted out the fun stems and flowers.
Okay I used baja breeze paper for the background and then heat emobssed the stems and the sentiment. Since I have already started the year off with late cards I thought a so sorry I'm late card worked well. Hopefully it will not be an ongoing theme, but who knows.
I then adhered the srip of punched dsp from basic grey and the berry sorbet double stiched ribbon from PTI. The yellow striped paper is from cosmo cricket. Hope you enjoy.

Happy Anniversary

Is it cold where you are from? It sure is here in Illinois. Can you believe that January is one of my bigger anniversary month. Luckliy I had some great inspiration for this card. I used the Mojo Monday sketch and also the color challenge from SPCC.
Here is my card
I wanted to use some of my fun sheet music for this card, the black really gave a fun dimension. I used some of the scarp part of the page for the flag in the center. I didn't think this color combo was going to work for me at all, but it really wasn't bad to work with. I think what was so surprising to me was that rose red and melon mambo are so similar when stamped. It felt like I was using the same color.

Just @ Note

Well I am so excited to finally get a challenge done and up in time. I missed one yesterday LOL! At least I will have some creations to share with you throughout the month. I started with the Mojo Monday sketch #120.
Then I saw Dawn's color combo and knew what I wanted to create.
Here is my card
and a close up of the main image
I decided to use my label 1 nestie instead of circles. I also wanted to use some fun buttons. The stiching around the card tied the aqua mist double stiched ribbon as well. It also now works for the JUGS stiching challenge as well. Love it when everything comes together. I love the bottom border on the chocolate chip as well. I used my SU curvy label punch to make that edge.

I good friend of mine who is 34 found some lumps in her breasts and they had to do a biopsy to see if it is cancerous. She was told origionally it was not, but now they think it might be. I can't imagine how scarry this must be for not only her, but her young children as well.
I was reading my bible for a study and came across some things I wanted to share with her and just needed the right card to do that. I am happy to say this is the card for her.

Mel's Blog Hop card #2!

Well it is no surprise to anyone here that I adore Melaine's sets that can be found here at Gina K Designs. She is celebrating her second year blogaversary and 25 released sets. Not only can you win neat things found here at her blog, but you can also create a card using one of her stamp sets and join the hop as well.

Okay I just couldn't not put Mel's sets down. I needed to make a fun card for my friend's anniversary coming up in January. So of course I had to pull out Cuddles and Hugs. It is so much fun to color and play with.
I colored my fun lions with the copics and then restamped the image on scrap paper and used it as a mask so I could spounge the background. I have also decided that the copic coloring system is on the "need" list for 2010. Maybe for my birthday or a baby present to myself LOL! I added the bushes so there was some texture. Hope you enjoy.

Guy Birthday Card

Don't you find guys are hard to create for. Okay I am probably the only one, but I just love to add fun things like ribbon, buttons and the like. I had to make a birthday card for a friend, so I needed to whip up a good guy card.

I used this sketch from Stamp TV. It is for one of their challenges, which I haven't done for some time, so I decided it was time to get cracking LOL!
Another fun challenge I have been eyeing for some time is the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger challenge. It is the neatest inspiration challenge and I am so glad I finally got a chance to play along.
Now this inspiration piece was a bit challenge for me at first. I ended up pulling the great colors and went with it. Here is my creation

I liked the little button accents with the jute tied into it. I think it adds some interest without being too girly. The background is on PTI Aqua Mist card stock stamped with one of the new diamond background sets. I then took my Snow White and streaked it across the paper. I thought it gave a fun effect that reminded me of the picture for some reason.

The second stamped piece this under velum to lighten the look. I used PTI guidelines 2 to create a fun background for the card. The new lemon tart from PTI is to die for!!!! I am now a lemon tart convert LOL! The sentiment is GKD and it is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink from SU on PTI vellum cardstock. It added a nice effect. The last step was to add PTI aqua mist and chocolate buttons the kraft button is from basic grey.

It's a good life!

Melaine's Blog Hop!!!

How fun is that?

I just got home late yesterday and do you think I unpacked, put away Christmas decorations or cleaned? NO, I just had to go and make a fun card for this great celebration. One of my new years resolutions is to keep up and blog my challenge cards. Too often I create them and then never get around to posting.

Since I had a lot of time at a hotel room Friday and Saturday due to a weather delay, I was able to check out quite a few challenge sites, needless to say I was swimming with inspiraiton. First I used the skech from JUGS. I really like this fun challenge site, but I haven't played as much as I would like. Then I saw this fun challenge from Embellish Magazine and thought it would work well with some of Mel's cuttie patottie animal sets.

Then when surfing, I ran into this fun card campaign for Winter. She is wanting to get a ton of cards for St. Judes. I really thought it was a fun idea, so I am going to be whipping up some more to send out.
Finally the card

Don't you think a little child would love this fun Valentines Day card? I have always loved the fun and playful animals that Melaine draws and this zebra is no exception. Hopefully there are more cuties headed our way LOL!

Happy 2010!!

Well the plan was to be much more active that last week, but we were in Virginia with no internet! As I type this we are about 3 hours from home at a hotel, but there was some HUGE snow and problems on the road. Hopefully we will get home tonight.

Here is a fun card that I made a while ago. I really like how crisp and clean it is. It could work for birthdays, new years cards, anniversary or really anything. Hope you are all staying warm and having a great day.

It's a good life!
