Doing the Happy Dance!

Okay I am on a Moxie Fab World Challenge kick LOL! This was an inspiration picture for a challenge that I never got to in time, but I really liked it so I used it for my color pallet for this card. One of the catagories was thinking of you/hello.

I am a realtor and I have a client who is at the tale end of selling their home. If any of you have tried to sell their home in this market it has tons of ups and downs right now. Their closing has been pushed back a few days and I made this card thinking of when they will be done. Hence the doing the happy dance! Hopefully I will be able to give this to them next week.
Here is my card
Aren't the colors so much fun? I tried to keep it light so that they sould shine. The background is a design I made from Papertrey Ink's guidelines 2. I adore that set and creating my own paper in colors that work for me. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs tag lines set.

It's a good life!

Birthday wishes!

Wow I have found another fun challenge to particpate in. I adore these colors, so it was tons of fun to figure out how to make it all work. I am also going to enter this for my birthday card for the Moxie Fab World Challenge. Super fun!

I went with the SFYTT challenge sketch that you see below.
Here is my card
What do you think? I reall like how this one turend out. The stiching, floss and embossing really added a fun element to the card. It was just enough white to make everything pop. I was really inspired by the Finally Friday challenge this week to stamp on dsp. I don't always think to do that unless it is for paper piercing, so this got me out of my little box for sure!
The dsp had a little bit of light green, but I went with it anyway. I hope that didn't through the challenge way off, but it worked so well that I gave it a try.
Today I am off to find a maternity bathing suit :( I am not happy about having to be in a suit at all, but Izzy needs to get a little more time in the pool on her own. She is only 3, but I would like to see her skills a little better. My Mom is going to take her to the beach this summer in the morning to help me with the baby and I want to try and make sure she is a little more prepared. I know this is crazy, but it is on my list of things that need to get done before I have the baby, so there you have it. It should also be some fun Izzy and Mommy time before the baby comes as well.
It's a good life!

3 Cheers for Joanne B!!!!

Well I got some cards done today. Not nearly as many as I would like, but some fun ones none the less. This card was made using the CPS sketch found below. I also did some paper piecing for Joanne B's challenge for her blog candy give away. It is her third year blogging!!!! Isn't that tons of fun?
Here is my card
Now I must say I am happy with everything but the fun turtle. I think he should have been in white and colored with just a fun belly. Izzy was with me this morning and she of course loves the little guy. It will work just fine for her little friends LOL!
The paper is from October Afternoon's Farm Fresh collection. I really like the papers and need to get them out more for sure. Hopefully this will spur me to use more of them. I have no idea why I need to hoard the goods and then forget to use them up? I really need to take stock of my fun bits and get going.

Thank you

Well I was finally able to get some crafting done. Not nearly as much as I had thought, but we have been working on getting Izzy's new room done as well. She is such a girl and that room is PINK!!!! Hopefully when we add the white furniture and such it will calm it down, LOL.

I found a new to me color challenge which looked like lots of fun. I think I am actually a day late in uploading it, but it was still fun. This card was also made for the PPA KISS challenge. I really like thinking about making simple cards, but must admit that I don't do it that often, so challenges are fabulous for me.
Here is my card
The flowers are from 5th Ave floral, stampin up. I saw some fun line art flowers on some cards and thought I needed those new stamps. Instead of buying, I went through all of my sets and low and behold I had a cutie right on my shelves. That is one of my new committments this year. I am really going to work on using what I already have before running out and buying the newest and greatest thing.
I colored the flowers with my copics. The teal requirement is in the center of the flower and then it moves to the brilliant blue part. It turned really fun in real life.

Hugs & Kisses

I am back with another Viva La Verve challenge. I must admit I am not sure if that is the actual name, but I love the ring of it from last year, so it is for me LOL! All this year they have sketches every Friday and an inspiration piece to draw from. Here is the picture I choose for this one
Here is the sketch
My card
The dsp is so much fun! I was so inspired by the carpet in the picture that when I found this in my stash, I knew it was a great fit. The colors really spoke to me as well. There is some spounging on all of the layers as well. I have no idea why I don't think to use the in colors more, but I am really liking the bermuda bay color. It is going to be my goal to use this more in the next few months so I am not sad when it is gone.
My sitter for Izzy has a whole house of people with the flu, needless to say I have had a great unexpected week with my daughter. Today we have a few things to do outside the home and then we will be crafting away! I can't express how excited I am to get inky and make some fun beauties. Hopefully I will have more to share later today.

sfytt - sweet pea

It is time for the next week of SFYTT. It was a fun one. I really liked the side portion of this sketch.
Here is my take on it
I got the idea to use these papers in this way from a card that was in a recent magazine. I have used this for an altered DVD tin that I will turn into a baby's first year tin. Isn't the curve fun for the side element. The lime rickey dsp has such fun curves in it and I liked the stiching detail that really highlightes the curve. I was drawn to this paper for fun baby cards because it is so bright and it so easily goes gor girls or boys.
This is for Lucy a 4 month old now. I have no idea why, but I am behind in these little baby dvd tins. I have about 10 more to make and then I will be done until my sister's baby that will be coming in July.

Wish Big

2 posts in one day! Well I had some time at home today since my baby sitter had to cancel and Izzy took a fabulous nap, so I got a fun challenge in. It has been so long since I have participated in the embellish challenge that I knew that was the one for me. I also wanted to do the Stamp TV stars inspiration challenge. I knew just what would combine these challenges for me, my long neglected Star Prints set.
Here is my card
They had some bright colors, but I had a lot of fun thinking about how to put this card together. I started by creating my back pannel. I stamped the dots from polka dot basics 2 in champaigne versa mark. I like the subtle shine you get when using that product. I then wanted to add a flourish. I inked it up in chocolate chip ink and then stamped off once. The stars were stamped in the same versa mark chocolate and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I really like how it made the color pop. Lastly I added the sentiment, raspberry fizz ribbon and the faux stiching. Super fun!!!!
These colors were a bit of a challenge for me, but I really like and appreciate the end result. As I was changing my PTI order for the 100th time since the 15, I decided to really look at what I already had and think about what I was missing from my collection. I am bound and determined to break out the stamps I have and use them to their fullest rather than always needing new, new, new. Now I still spend around $100 mind you, so I didn't widdle too much, but I did feel better about hitting send LOL!

CPS Love is in the Air

Here is another fun card using the CPS sketch.
Here is my card
The blues look better in real life, but it is still a really fun card. I got the fun new valenties day set from PTI and this was one of my first cards I used with it. I have no idea why, but it seems like I use things the year after I get them LOL! So this year I was all about heart prints and my punny valentine. I know I will use this set a ton, but it will have to wait until next year.
Hope you are having a great day. I am excited to finally be putting in my Stampin Up celebreation order for the new year and also my first Papertrey order of the new year. So in the next few weeks, I will have tons of fun new goodies!!!!

Sweetie Pie

Well on the eve of Valentine's Day, I thought this fun Sweetie Pie card would be perfect. I enjoyed the Viva La Verve challenges all last year and I am so glad they have the same fun this year as well.

It is a sketch and inspiration challenge put togehter. How fun is that? You get to pick your inspiraiton piece from the 3 selected photos. Here is what I picked for this sketch.
Here is the sketch
My card
As you can see, I was really inspired by the fun colors. I liked the dark look of the picture. So I stared by stampin the pie and sentiment and then using my copics to color in the fun cut out in the crust. I must say the little steam stamp cracks me up.
The chocolate chip base layer is embossed with clear embossing powder. It really seemed to add just the right dimension for me. I also have some fun PTI satin ribbon to add a little flair. What do you think about the kraft and chocolate dotted paper? It is a jillybean soup paper and I really like it.

I used this fabulous PTI color combo that Dawn put together. I adore her since of color so much. Did you see her big announcement about color combos.
Now onto the fun SFYTT announcement. There are big thing happening in the month of February for SFYTT, a HUGE give away and a chance to be the March designer. Go check it out. Here is this weeks sketch
My card
Okay I have to admit, this is my most favorite card of the day. I made the background paper with guidelines 2 stamp set and hibicus burst, raspberry fizz, summer sunrise and chocolate chip. Isn't that fun? The big ribbon is su as well. It really seemed to ground the bottom of the card. Lastly I just had to add the bling. I mean the sentiment is Girly you ROCK, it needed to have some "rocks" on the card LOL!

JUGS You are on my Mind

I really liked this PTI color combo with the black.
I paired it with the JUGS sketch challenge. It is so much fun to participate when I can. I have really been on a circle challenge, so this was right up my alley Here is my card
Didn't that turn out fun? I really like how the black pops. Although I do have every PTI button colors there are, I really liked the SU buttons with this card. I have also gotten into using plain paper for color circle blocks. I also used the vintage cream to distress all of the papers. I also really like the floss detail on the buttons as well.

Hope your day is Fabulous!

Hold on to your hats PTI fans, I had an unexpected day around the house today and got 7 cards done. Now 4 are the same layout, so that helped, but still 7 cards WOWZIERS LOL! They are all for the PTI color challenges. There were 12 total, but I do have to get them all uploaded, so this will be enough for one night. Here is the first one I tired out for size
Here is my creation
I am going to keep the details light as there are a lot, but this sketch idea I got from Kristina Werners Make a Card Monday video. I have no idea why the staz on was so funky on this one, but it worked fine for the rest so oh well. More than likely I will replace that pannel before I send it since by then it will drive me nuts!

Happy Anniversary

Well one of my favorite finds from PTI was Becky's compose a card challenge that she has started. I really like challenges and I adored her freebee graphic that hopefully is an indication of what we might be in store for with her line as well, so this was fun all around on her blog. Here was her challenge. So you have to keep the measurements the same and use the colors mentioned. Since I was a slacker, I was able to combine it with the fun CPS sketch as well.
Here is my card
I hand punched the small hearts and then glued them on individually so that the fun color pattern was created. Here is a close up of the hearts
I didn't think I was going to like the colors together at all. They are not my normal by any strech of the imigination, but I think it worked out really nicely. This card works for the Finally Friday challenge as well, which was to use pastels.
This card is going to my Aunt and Uncle for their anniversary. I am sure it will brighten their gloomy IL day.

Papertrey you ROCK!

Well if you haven't been stalking the Papertrey blog everyday like I have run over right now LOL! This is the best time of the year with tons of fun product lines and great challenges. The one today was a paint by numbers sketch with a color combo. Here is the sketch
The color combo was based on your forum name and mine is trotskired7, so I had this color combo.
Here is my card

I must say I would never have put aqua mist and spring rain together on a card. It was a lot of fun and I do like the end result. Papertrey if you are listening, I would love to have a line of products to match your kraft cardstock! Just a thought LOL.

It came together so quickly because the measurements were provided. Now that makes for a super easy card. I used the white guidlines 2 paper and then all of the colors to create my own dsp. I finally broke out Dawn's sentiment set and I really like all of the fun phrases. This challenge was a blast and I can't wait to see what is coming up next.
Ohhhhh, PTI in Chicago for CHA!!!! Wahooooo. I couldn't be more excited. My Mom, my cousin Katie and myself are all going to be there. Life dosen't get any better than this. Ahhhh.

Think Pink

Good Morning! I am waiting for Diva to get up so that I can go and set up the shower for my cousin Katie. It is always fun when the day arrives and all of the projects die down LOL! There will be tons of pictures, so I will be sure to share with everyone the fun cupcake boxes. Although I did have a dream last night that the cupcakes didn't fit in the box at all, which will be tragic LOL!!!!!

I made this card for a challenge that was to create a smaller card. A good friend of mine, Kim who is 34 got diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and she had her first chemo yesterday. My thoughts and prayers have been with her all day yesterday and I imagine most of the day today as well. She has 2 small children (4&6), so any prayers you could send up for her would be so appreciated.
The background is a fun polka dot trasparency from Stampin Up. I like the sheen it added. The library clip detail was a lot of fun as well. That is just dmc floss tied in a bow as an accent. I colored the ladies in copics. I finally feel like I am getting some where with the coloring LOL!

The inside said we are in this together and although I am not physically going up with her, I think prayer warriers are important and needed. So for now, that is my role.

It's a good life!

Wishing you sunshine!

This is going to be a quick post today. Papertrey Ink is having their 3rd year anniversary party right now. The have different contests and challenges until February 15th. Today's was to download a free graphic from each of the stamp designers websites and create something with it.

There is a new designer Becky, who really intrigued me with this fun design. I was so drawn to it and I really hope to see these same elements in a real stamp set soon. I am not a digi girl by any iminagination. I use too much paper making mistakes and I can't place single images like the sun on the inside of the card without a lot of cutting. Needless to say, I do really like how this cutie turned out!
Here is the inside of the card

Looking at the inside now that I am done, I really wish I had done a better job centering my handwritten part LOL! This is for my Aunt Wilma and she is the sweetest encourger you will find around, so it will be well loved regardless LOL!
I used copics to color the front. I must say this is the first time I have really used the chisel edge. I wanted to have a blue sky background and I wasn't unpleased with the results. I also added quite a bit of bling. Love the shimmer and shine. We get snow here, so this works for our area well.
It's a good life!
