Baby Time!

Well I don't know about you, but it is a little baby boom around here. It seems like eveyone is having a baby. There is definately something in the water here in Illinois! Needless to say, I have been whipping up baby cards like mad. The first card is the pink version (I acutally made this into a first birthday card, but could easily be a baby card) and then I took some more pictures of the process with the green card.
Isn't the plaid really neat? I got the idea from the fabulousDawn! She has really good pictures, but I thought I would share how I mass produced these. First I thought about how I waned to space out the plaid and then made tick marks on my grid sheet. I started with the white stripes from retro background basics. Once I had the tick marks, it was so easy to ink up and go.
Then I started in right away with my next color and the faux ribbon stamp set. It was so easy and fast. I did 80 in no time at all.
The last step was to turn the card base the other way and stamp the spring moss layer.
Stinking fun and so very cute! The last baby shower invites are being sent out next month for a virtual shower for my sister in law. Hope everyone had a blessed holiday and I am sure 2010 will be the best year ever!
It's a good life!

Sending a smile

Hello everyone! I have about 85% of my Christmas list done with only a few more to get and put together. I am sure it will all get put together before the big day. The bigger question is will I get all of my cards done?

This is a fun card I made for a window sheet challenge. It was a lot of fun to make the balloons look like they are floating through the air. I spounged the sky and it really does have a depth of color and dimension.

I am going to a real estate class today, so I have to keep it short.

It's a good life!

Illini Birthday

This is the last of my Dads birthday set. He is a huge Illini fan, so the colors came from that. I went to a private school in Missouri, so needless to say Dad is already getting Izzy in the Illini mindset LOL!
This was a fun card using PTI sets. I adore how easy it is to build your own designer serries paper with the clear sets. I must say that is one of my favorite things to do and I wasn't even into that until PTI.

Did anyone else order a ton for the new release. I tried to get the heart background stamp set, but it was sold out. I was only 5 hours after they went live. Isn't that crazy! I was actually glad in a way since I am really not a heart person. I saw one of the preview cards made by Nicole and thought I had to have it, so now I can think about if it really needs to find a home in my stamping room.

It's a good life!

Thank you pony

This was a card I made for WCMD back in October. I really need to be better about posting all of theses goodies. It is amazing how being pregnant has slowed me down. Anyway here was the sketch sponsored by Hanna Stamps
Here is my take on the sketch.
This was another fun card for Izzy's Birthday thank yous. It was a ton of fun to work on it together and then send it out. We are definately going to keep this up throughout the years.

Happy Birthday Bella!!!!

Well I am so excited to be particpating in the Stamping Bella's 3rd birthday. It is hard to believe that they have been along that long. It seems like only a few months ago that I got my first cutie LOL! As you all know they have expanded their line and I must admit I adore these cute little turtles. Unfortunately I haven't been able to stamp with them until today that is!

Didn't it turn out fun? This is also the first time I busted out the Earth Love cosmo cricket dsp. It was so much fun to use and I have no idea what took me so long LOL! I used the CPS sketch 144 for this creation. I really liked the little bit of texture the frayed ribbons added on the pom poms. The dsp tummy also added a really neat touch. Hope you are enjoying your fun day of Stamping Bella eye candy. I know I sure am!

The next stop on your hop is Keesh, so hop on over and leave her some love!

It's a good life!

Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving! I must say this is among my favorite holidays. It is so much fun to get together with family and reflect on our many blessings. We all have had bumps this year, but even in those times we still look to find ways to praise God for our blessings.

One of the things I am so thankful for this year is my daughter Izzy. When she woke up this morning, the first thing she wanted to do was stamp. Am I lucky or what? The next big thing I am thankful for is our new baby that will be arriving in the beginning of June! Isn't that fun? Needless to say you will all be seeing more baby things around here. That is also why I have been a bit slower with my posting lately. Hopefully you will all understand and forgive me LOL!

I was so excited to finally be able to work on Dawn's latest color combo found here.
Then when I was checking early this morning, I found a fun sketch she inspired me to create with from Limelight Papercrafts.
Here is my card
The sketch challenge did want us to use dsp, but I just had to make some of my own LOL! Hopefully this still counts. I really liked this color combo, but I was unsure how to make it all work together, until I thought about creating my dsp. Super fun.
I started with guidelines 2 paper and then stamped with guidelines 2 stamps in lavender moon, raspberry fizz, spring moss and aqua mist. I then stamped the new diamonds backgound set from PTI in versa mark ink and then embossed. The next step was to brayer with SU chocolate chip ink and then rub the excess off the embossed part. WOWZIERS!!!! Love this effect.
The rest is pretty easy and since it is Thanksgiving I am going to cut this a little short.
It's a good life!

Papa's other page

Oaky here is the other half of my Dad's birthday spread. I adore this fun set of pics. This was a Stamp TV scrapbook challenge. Love those challenges!
Here is the page
A close up of the journaling.
If only I could write in a fashion that my Dad could read LOL! I like handwritting because I think it is so powerful and neat to read generations down. I still have things my Great Grandma wrote and it is really neat to look at.
All the details are the same as the last, so I am going to keep this short.

Claire's Card

Well I think I shared that Izzy had her first friend birthday party on Saturday. Wouldn't you know that was a tough day for her so we weren't able to go. We ended up making Claire's card right before ballet class. I used this sketch from CPS.
Here is our card
Okay I must add that we have had rain, rain, rain here and I also took this in my car as we were heading to ballet LOL! The glitter looks much better in real life and it was Izzy's contribution LOL!
The best part was the other Mom said she likes to make cards as well. Isn't that fun! Now we will be diving into that at the next ballet class while the kids are in the room. I am so excited to meet a new to me crafter.

Embellish Challenge

Here is the current emblish magazine challenge. I really like these, but I don't always get the time to create. Izzy helped me get this one together and we decided it would be for Keegan's birthday. That is in January LOL! We are really working ahead and it feels good!
Here is our card
Now I must say I wouldn't have ever used that lion, but Izzy thought it was wonderful. I really did like how everything came together at hte end. The brads are the eyes and nose and everything else is from the cosmo cricket Jack and Jill craft set. Love those fun papers and great stickers.

Papa's Birthday gift

Well my Dad's birthday is on Halloween, needless to say it is a busy day! Thankfully my Mom gave me the great idea of putting together scrapbooks for both my parents for special holidays. I made my Dad a double layout and then a fun card as well. I am going to put together his scrapbook cover for Christmas. Super fun!!!!

Here is the page layout I worked with. This was either from Stamp TV or a Gina K release page. I really enjoy the page sketches that company puts out, so it has made my scrapbooking tons more fun!
Here is the first page
A close up of the fun sayings
I did stamp the cap from Just so sporty in dazzle versa mark for a background. Also did you notice the fun grid dsp I made? I am loving journaling lines if for no other reason than super fun backgroud stamps. LOVE IT!!!!
My Dad and Mom went to University of Illinois together and they are huge UOI fans. Dad left his UOI hat at our home after Izzy's birthday and Izzy thought it was the best play to ever. The other page is lots of fun as well. I will get it up later this week.

Finally!!!

Don't forget to post here for a chance to win a $31 gift certificate from one of my favorite online stores!

Okay I finally felt like creating today and it feels good LOL! I was so inspired by Dawn's first card on this post I had to make one of my own. Thankfully I just had lunch with one of my old co-workers who I find oh so dear to me. It was such a blessing yesterday that I can hardly stand my excitement. The saddest thing is it has been so long that my cord I use to download my pictures went missing LOL! I had to go and purchase a new one. How sad is that?

I saw this challenge from Color throwdown and I knew it was perfect for the card I was thinking about. Then when I saw the finally friday video from Kristina and the challenge to use birght colors I was in like flint LOL!
Here is my card
Didn't that turn out fun? I made this for my good friend Ann. We just had lunch and it was so good chatting with her. I love when everyone takes the time to connect with old friends. I have to share her fabulous idea. She and her husband Jim are going to be taking each of their grandkids when the reach the age of 10-11 on a one on one trip with them. How fun is that? They get to pick anywhere in the continential united states. I passed this on to my parents and I can't wait to do this with my grandkids one day as well.
Onto the card. I loved all of the bright colors and decided to do some embossing with this card as well. The sentiment, background dots and the background on the red are all embossed. I really liked the touch it added to the card. The other two pieces are stamped with darker colors on the lighter colors. I decided to through in some fun buttons, ribbon and a punched corner to finsih off the card.
Izzy has a princess birthday party to attend later today and we still have to make the card for that as well. Hopefully we will get it all done.
It's a good life!

Shiny Penny Alert (BLOG CANDY)......

WOW, I have been gone for a long time. I wish I had a really good reason, but I really don't. I have been busy working on a real estate investment and I am pretty tired at night, so there hasn't been much creating.

Today is my 31st birthday so I will be giving away a special gift to one of you. I will be giving a $31 gift certificate to either Gina K Designs, Papertrey Ink or Verve. Just leave a comment by November 15th and I will draw from one lucky person.
Rules: If you are a follower you get an extra entry. If you post something about this on your blog you get another entry. Good Luck!!!!!

Hopefully I will have some fun things to share soon.

Happy Birthday

Well I am almost done with my Birthday cards needed for this year. Wahoooo!!!! I wanted to get done this month so that I could coast if needed through the holidays. I think I have one more card to do for this year and then I will be starting on my January group.

This is another of my cards that I made using the Verve sketch challenges and didn't get it up in time LOL! I also used the Embillish Magazine challenge here as well. Although I must say I like this card, but I don't feel I have nailed this challenge yet, so I am going to try it again soon.
Here is my card
It really turned out fun. What I don't love is the raspberry fizz element. I really would have liked to keep the gray. I really need to make another LOL! What I did love was the bling. It was a lot of fun to put in those different elements. This is either going to be for my Grandma or for my Aunt, I haven't decided yet.

Tired and BEHIND!!!

Well can you believe it has been so long since I posted. I am embaressed to say I made quite a few cards for challenges that I never got posted :( I have been tired and hungry for weeks (wink, wink), so needless to say the time to upload has been limited.

For todays card I used a Verve challenge sketch and a color throwdown combo (both of these I didn't get it uploaded in time LOL). I also made this for JoAnne's anniversary blog candy. That I am acutally able to enter LOL! Here is the color combo
Here is my card
The fun Buttony Bow LOL!
Isn't this card a riot? Okay there won't be a lot of explaination, but hope you are all having a great weekend and I will be uploading a few more this weekend, hopefully. I am going to bed in a little bit myself, so it will be a good night LOL!

WCMD Pony

I still have a few cards to share from World Card Making Day. It was a riot!!! I loved seeing all of the challenges and getting my creative groove on. What a hoot. Splitcoaststampers had quite a day planned with all of their member companies. I even won a year long pass WAHOOOO!!! I was a memeber there for a few years and then when things started to slow up at work I had to do some cutting, so that was one of the things that had to be cut. It is so much fun to be able to upload whenever you would like. Onto my fun card, it was based on the sketch you see below.
Here is my card
Can you tell this was another one of Izzy's Brithday thank you notes? Another great part of the day was that Izzy was able to stamp with me all day. She loves to be up in the stampin room, so it was a ton of fun. I can only hope she still likes it in a few years.

Ain't no sunshine when you're gone

Good Morning! Hopefully you are all able to spend some time with your family today. We are lucky to not only be able to spend time with my family, but also time together at church. Does life get any better than that?

Now onto my card. I was able to combine a few challenges. Have you been over the the JUGS challenge blog? It is a lot of fun and they change it up every week. This week it is a color combo. I used the sketch challenge from Unscrpited Sketches. I haven't played along with them for a while, but I really liked their sketch this week. Here is the sketch

My card
Well what do you think? I really like the pop of red. It just seemed to brighten the card. Not that this will be any surprise to any of you, but I LOVE Papertrey Ink's buttons. It is such a fun mix of sizes, shapes and in the case of this aqua mist one bling. Isn't that fun? Oh, if you haven't tried the new ink pads from PTI you really need to. It is fabulous and I can't wait untill they change them all!!!

Have a blessed day.

Blog Candy Winner and card

Wahoooo!!! I have a blog candy winner from the group who sent Izzy a card. First I wanted to thank everyone for you kindness. Izzy LOVED getting all of her fun cards and packages. Everytime she got one she said "For MEEEE?" and then treasured all of the cards, stickers and book. Actually Jena, the winner, sent a map that her daughter made and Izzy has been carying that along for the last 3 weeks. Everytime we get in the card she says the map says to go right Mom LOL!

Congrats Jena!!!! Please e-mail me your address again (of course that is the envelope that Izzy ripped open real good and I only have a partial address) and I will get those goodies to you right away.

On to the fun card for today. I used the SPCC color combo and a year cards challenge from Kristina and two peas in a bucket found here.
Here is my card
Okay isn't that layout fun? It was a sketch challenge for this months cards and I loved this one. I will actually work on all 3 of them at some point this month, but this was my favorite by far. The vellum was an idea I lifted from Kristina as well. I did dry emboss rather than heat emboss. The colors came together nicely and as always, this is a combo I would love to use again. I must say Samantha is FABULOUS at picking colors that I rarely use and making me want to pick them up again.
I am actually going to use this for a birthday card for my Aunt. I have 3 more Birthday cards to go for this year and then I am going to start on January as well.

The sun will come out tomorrow

This was a card that I made for my Viva La Verve sketch. It is going out to Eric and his family. I have Izzy making a few cards as well. If you have a few minutes to make a card and drop it it that would be wonderful. Here is the sketch and the twist was speciality paper. I didn't even know I had this pack, but I went searching.
Here is my card
Isn't this card stinking fun? I really wanted to send something encouraging and hopefully uplifting. Although I don't have a sick child, I can't imagine my life without her. It is so hard to understand what God asks of us at times. To see his plan and the big picture while we are in the middle of it. I can only hope that this card brightens up the day if only for a moment.

We're in this together!

Well I have a fun card to share with you today. I saw this sketch from CPS, so that was my starting point. I have been thinking about the Verve encourging challenge and also the JUGS paper piercing challenge. After thinking about all of those for a few days, here is what I came up with.
The card
Isn't that fun? I really liked being able to switch up the clothes for each woman. It really does fit the idea I was going for. I reallly like the idea of women helping each other and I am always amazed at how different we can be and yet how supportive and loving we can be. I paper pierced the gal on the left and the gal on the right was colored with copics. Add a little stiching and there you go.

Hippy Birthday

Good evening! I am so excited to share another fun card with you today. This was a card that combined two challenges. The first was the SPCC challenge with colors seen below. The second was a kick stand card challenge from Stamp TV.
Here is a picture of the card with me holding it together so you could see the whole effect.
Here is the card standing by itself.
How cute is that little guy? Anyway, I really liked making this card. I hadn't made one like this in a while if ever. It is for Owen a fun friend who is turning 2 in November. I am way ahead of the game right now with my birthday/anniversary cards. If only I could get them out in time.
I have one friend who puts the actual date on the back of the card and then mails 2 times a month. So everyone gets their card early, but they do know that you know when their birthday actually is. What do you think of that? Would you be offended/would it still seem personal? I guess it is better than this year when I was late for some of them even though the card was made weeks in advance. I would love to hear what you guys think.

Happy Anniversary

Good evening! This is a fun and semi quick card I made for the color throwdown challenge found here.
Here is my card
Do you see where the semi quick came into being LOL! I was really inspired by Nicole's WCMD Australia challenge to add dots to a creation. Even though this challenge has been done for quite some time, it has been in my head and I needed to get it onto paper. As always the colors came together quite easily.
I really like all of the fun punches for the sentiment as well. The spounging really added a lot as well.

Hey Chickadee

I am really excited about sharing this card with you. There are just certain cards that come together and make you smile when they are done. This was one of those cards for me. I used the color combo from PPA and the fun sketch from MMSC.

My card
Okay isn't this card a cutie LOL! I haven't created a lot of cards with the little chicks, but I really think they are cute. For some reason this color combo just called to the chicks for me. The pumpkin just begged to be the sun. There are little bits of bling for the eyes.

Have a Goodie!

Well this is my last post of the night LOL! I got all but one of the WCMD color combo challenges done. This was my hardest out of all of them. These colors just didn't jive in my head, but the card still turned out okay. I combined this with Kristina's Finally Friday sketch challenge found here.
Here is my card
The origional intent was a birthday card, but I am going to keep looking at it to see if it will work for me or not. Some cards just need time to grown on you. I do like the fun button elements. And thank goodness for guidelines 2. Anytime I have a tough color combo I always crack that out.
