Happy Birthday

Well I am almost done with my Birthday cards needed for this year. Wahoooo!!!! I wanted to get done this month so that I could coast if needed through the holidays. I think I have one more card to do for this year and then I will be starting on my January group.

This is another of my cards that I made using the Verve sketch challenges and didn't get it up in time LOL! I also used the Embillish Magazine challenge here as well. Although I must say I like this card, but I don't feel I have nailed this challenge yet, so I am going to try it again soon.
Here is my card
It really turned out fun. What I don't love is the raspberry fizz element. I really would have liked to keep the gray. I really need to make another LOL! What I did love was the bling. It was a lot of fun to put in those different elements. This is either going to be for my Grandma or for my Aunt, I haven't decided yet.
It's a good life!

Tired and BEHIND!!!

Well can you believe it has been so long since I posted. I am embaressed to say I made quite a few cards for challenges that I never got posted :( I have been tired and hungry for weeks (wink, wink), so needless to say the time to upload has been limited.

For todays card I used a Verve challenge sketch and a color throwdown combo (both of these I didn't get it uploaded in time LOL). I also made this for JoAnne's anniversary blog candy. That I am acutally able to enter LOL! Here is the color combo
Here is my card
The fun Buttony Bow LOL!
Isn't this card a riot? Okay there won't be a lot of explaination, but hope you are all having a great weekend and I will be uploading a few more this weekend, hopefully. I am going to bed in a little bit myself, so it will be a good night LOL!

WCMD Pony

I still have a few cards to share from World Card Making Day. It was a riot!!! I loved seeing all of the challenges and getting my creative groove on. What a hoot. Splitcoaststampers had quite a day planned with all of their member companies. I even won a year long pass WAHOOOO!!! I was a memeber there for a few years and then when things started to slow up at work I had to do some cutting, so that was one of the things that had to be cut. It is so much fun to be able to upload whenever you would like. Onto my fun card, it was based on the sketch you see below.
Here is my card
Can you tell this was another one of Izzy's Brithday thank you notes? Another great part of the day was that Izzy was able to stamp with me all day. She loves to be up in the stampin room, so it was a ton of fun. I can only hope she still likes it in a few years.

Ain't no sunshine when you're gone

Good Morning! Hopefully you are all able to spend some time with your family today. We are lucky to not only be able to spend time with my family, but also time together at church. Does life get any better than that?

Now onto my card. I was able to combine a few challenges. Have you been over the the JUGS challenge blog? It is a lot of fun and they change it up every week. This week it is a color combo. I used the sketch challenge from Unscrpited Sketches. I haven't played along with them for a while, but I really liked their sketch this week. Here is the sketch

My card
Well what do you think? I really like the pop of red. It just seemed to brighten the card. Not that this will be any surprise to any of you, but I LOVE Papertrey Ink's buttons. It is such a fun mix of sizes, shapes and in the case of this aqua mist one bling. Isn't that fun? Oh, if you haven't tried the new ink pads from PTI you really need to. It is fabulous and I can't wait untill they change them all!!!

Have a blessed day.

It's a good life!

Blog Candy Winner and card

Wahoooo!!! I have a blog candy winner from the group who sent Izzy a card. First I wanted to thank everyone for you kindness. Izzy LOVED getting all of her fun cards and packages. Everytime she got one she said "For MEEEE?" and then treasured all of the cards, stickers and book. Actually Jena, the winner, sent a map that her daughter made and Izzy has been carying that along for the last 3 weeks. Everytime we get in the card she says the map says to go right Mom LOL!

Congrats Jena!!!! Please e-mail me your address again (of course that is the envelope that Izzy ripped open real good and I only have a partial address) and I will get those goodies to you right away.

On to the fun card for today. I used the SPCC color combo and a year cards challenge from Kristina and two peas in a bucket found here.
Here is my card
Okay isn't that layout fun? It was a sketch challenge for this months cards and I loved this one. I will actually work on all 3 of them at some point this month, but this was my favorite by far. The vellum was an idea I lifted from Kristina as well. I did dry emboss rather than heat emboss. The colors came together nicely and as always, this is a combo I would love to use again. I must say Samantha is FABULOUS at picking colors that I rarely use and making me want to pick them up again.
I am actually going to use this for a birthday card for my Aunt. I have 3 more Birthday cards to go for this year and then I am going to start on January as well.
It's a good life!

The sun will come out tomorrow

This was a card that I made for my Viva La Verve sketch. It is going out to Eric and his family. I have Izzy making a few cards as well. If you have a few minutes to make a card and drop it it that would be wonderful. Here is the sketch and the twist was speciality paper. I didn't even know I had this pack, but I went searching.
Here is my card
Isn't this card stinking fun? I really wanted to send something encouraging and hopefully uplifting. Although I don't have a sick child, I can't imagine my life without her. It is so hard to understand what God asks of us at times. To see his plan and the big picture while we are in the middle of it. I can only hope that this card brightens up the day if only for a moment.

We're in this together!

Well I have a fun card to share with you today. I saw this sketch from CPS, so that was my starting point. I have been thinking about the Verve encourging challenge and also the JUGS paper piercing challenge. After thinking about all of those for a few days, here is what I came up with.
The card
Isn't that fun? I really liked being able to switch up the clothes for each woman. It really does fit the idea I was going for. I reallly like the idea of women helping each other and I am always amazed at how different we can be and yet how supportive and loving we can be. I paper pierced the gal on the left and the gal on the right was colored with copics. Add a little stiching and there you go.

Hippy Birthday

Good evening! I am so excited to share another fun card with you today. This was a card that combined two challenges. The first was the SPCC challenge with colors seen below. The second was a kick stand card challenge from Stamp TV.
Here is a picture of the card with me holding it together so you could see the whole effect.
Here is the card standing by itself.
How cute is that little guy? Anyway, I really liked making this card. I hadn't made one like this in a while if ever. It is for Owen a fun friend who is turning 2 in November. I am way ahead of the game right now with my birthday/anniversary cards. If only I could get them out in time.
I have one friend who puts the actual date on the back of the card and then mails 2 times a month. So everyone gets their card early, but they do know that you know when their birthday actually is. What do you think of that? Would you be offended/would it still seem personal? I guess it is better than this year when I was late for some of them even though the card was made weeks in advance. I would love to hear what you guys think.
It's a good life!

Happy Anniversary

Good evening! This is a fun and semi quick card I made for the color throwdown challenge found here.
Here is my card
Do you see where the semi quick came into being LOL! I was really inspired by Nicole's WCMD Australia challenge to add dots to a creation. Even though this challenge has been done for quite some time, it has been in my head and I needed to get it onto paper. As always the colors came together quite easily.
I really like all of the fun punches for the sentiment as well. The spounging really added a lot as well.

Hey Chickadee

I am really excited about sharing this card with you. There are just certain cards that come together and make you smile when they are done. This was one of those cards for me. I used the color combo from PPA and the fun sketch from MMSC.
Here is the sketch
My card
Okay isn't this card a cutie LOL! I haven't created a lot of cards with the little chicks, but I really think they are cute. For some reason this color combo just called to the chicks for me. The pumpkin just begged to be the sun. There are little bits of bling for the eyes.
Izzy is restless, so I need to go and start the day.

Have a Goodie!

Well this is my last post of the night LOL! I got all but one of the WCMD color combo challenges done. This was my hardest out of all of them. These colors just didn't jive in my head, but the card still turned out okay. I combined this with Kristina's Finally Friday sketch challenge found here.
Here is my card
The origional intent was a birthday card, but I am going to keep looking at it to see if it will work for me or not. Some cards just need time to grown on you. I do like the fun button elements. And thank goodness for guidelines 2. Anytime I have a tough color combo I always crack that out.

Big 34

Well my hubby turns 34 in November, so Izzy helped me create this beauty. She loves helping pick out things for others cards. Randy always seems to be wearing big hoodie sweatshirts and baseball caps, so that was the inspriation for this card. I used this fun WCMD color combo from SPCC. I also based the card on this sketch by Stamp TV Here is my card
It is a loose interpertation of the sketch for sure! I was going to add some ribbon at the bottom, but it was just too much, so I left it off. I adore using all of the sketch for a jumping off point. I think the spiral punch and the cute little clip add a fun dimension as well.
I am sure my hubby will love it!

Magical Birthday

I feel like I have been running behind all week. This card was done a few days ago, but this is the first time I have had to put it up. It was for the CPS sketch found here.
Here is my card
I know we are pony crazy here, but it is Izzy's favorite right now. This card is for Addie's 3rd birthday. As Izzy said any three year old would love pink ponies LOL! I dotted all around all of the images to mimic the ribbon.

Mojo Birthday

I am so excited to finally have this card together. I got this fun Basic Grey dsp pack a few weeks ago and it had been sitting there just waiting for me to crack it open. When I saw this Mojo Monday sketch, I knew it was time LOL!
Here is my card
Aren't those colors stunning! Love the bird as well. It is the perfect Birthday card for my good friend Nicole. She is a sweetie and we don't get to see each other nearly enough. The scarlet jewel button accents add such a fabulous element. I so rarely put a card together with just stickers and paper and NO stamping, but this paper pack is stunning and made it so much fun.

Super birthday

Well this was made for a Viva La Verve sketch challenge. For some reason, I don't have the sketch saved, but the twist was to use bling. If you want to see the current Viva La Verve challenges, check them out here. Onto my card
I had to add a close up of the bling, super fun.
I was itching to break out my Thorougly Modern dsp and use a card based on those colors. I really like this dsp and hadn't used it in a while. Now when you mention bling how can you not think of Bella? This was for a fun friend of mine and I know she will LOVE it!!! I think I am getting better at coloring with my copics, but it is like a sickness as now I "need" more LOL! I added tons of paper piercing and spounging to the card as well.

Oldie but goodie

Well one of these I created quite some time ago and I just haven't shared it yet. The other two I made for Izzy 's Sunday school teachers. When she turned 3 she had to move to the next class. I wanted to thank all of her hard workers in a special way. I put 2 bags of M&Ms and a bag of popcorn along with a gift certificate to the local movie store. I think it was jut the right touch. Here are the three take along totes I made.
Here is a close up of the card and tote I made first
The front of the tote
A shot of the inside
Hopefully you have a great day! I have some work to do today and a few more challenges I would like to finish up and submit. Oh I have also worked on my Sister-in-laws shower invitations. Super fun, I will share them soon as well.

Wishing you shower of blessings

Well I am excited to share my last Papertrey Ink WCMD challenge. The last country was Aurtrailia and the challenge can be found here. I also used this fun color combo from SPWCMD combo #5.
Here is Nichole's fabulous graphic for her challenge
Here is my card
Now Nichole challenged us to use your gel pen and dot it up. Now for some reason I did dashes, but I did like the end product. The dots are from Polka Dot Basics 2. I needed a guy birthday card, so this really worked well for me. Yet another reason why I adore papertrey ink, it is so easy to break down the sentiement so it fits the space you need.
I heat embossed all of the umbrellas. Did you notice the background in the top note die, well that is actually a page of my phone book LOL! Okay I found another fun challenge called Everything but the Kitchen sink. Here are the details about their new challenge.
The challenge will always be to use a specific item from around your house! There
are tons of things we can use around our houses, but I think many times we forget
to look!
So without further ado, here's this months challenge:
Use something from the mail as part of your card or scrapbook page!
Isn't that interesting? I wasn't sure what I would do until today. The new phone book came in the mail. Now I looked and looked for our old one, but it was not found. I origionally thought all of the numbers would be super fun, but I can't take out this years numbers. When I was flipping through, I saw some rules for our city. Well I am not in the city limits so Jackpot!!!!
It's a good life!

Life

Okay, I thought I was going to wait a bit before posting more, but Izzy isn't heading upstairs for her nap yet, so I want to stay down for a while longer. She is feeling quite crummy, so there is a lot of relaxing going on. She did just say her ears hurts, so we might be makig a trip to the er later. Ear infections are no good at all :(

Onto the challenge, this was a combo as well. I used another of Nicole's fun WCMD country (Japan) challenges found here. It also ended up working great for the Moxie Fab gradient challenge. I am glad that got extended as I still have a few ideas I want to try.
Here is my card
Aren't Nicole's graphics AWESOME for her challenges? I was oddly drawn to the pink colors (not that pink is odd, it is just an odd choice for me, it must be Izzy rubbing off on me LOL). Also the middle picture with the writing. I really like how the black poped out.
I also think of very clasic lines when I think of Japan for some reason, so here is what I ended up with. It is going to be yet another anniversary card. I also got the technique for the background from Andrea here. The video is AWESOME and I adore learning all of these different ways to use the tools I already own. Now for a fun tip. I don't own a lot of SU craft ink and what I do own dosen't look or sound like hers when stamped, but I did the some colorbox chalk queue ink and it worked AWESOME for embossing. I think I am going to work on picking up more when it goes on sale.

Have a great day!

This is excatly how I feel right now, it is such a great day. This was for two WCMD challenges. The first part is by none other than Nicole from Papertrey Ink. It was another wonderful country challenge. Mexico was the inspiration this time. I took my fun bright colors and use of pattern for my inspiration.
The other challenge was from splitcoaststampers WCMD challenges. Here is my card
I also wanted to show the fun side shot
Socrpal sponsored this one and it had awesome directions that you can find here. I really like everything about this creation. I am going to give it away for an anniversary card. The only problem is where do I write my note. I am thinking when I open it up the flip side will work.
The background dsp I made from guidelines 2 and it is too stinking cute to cover up with a note LOL! Don't you love all of the colors? I would never have put all of these together, but I really adore the outcome.
I have a few more uploads today, but I am going to go and finish some more challenges.
It's a good life!

Birthday Bling

Well you know I had to stop by Nicole's blog from Papertrey Ink to see what goodies she was cooking up for WCMD and boy was I impressed. Four fun challenges that have me looking at cultures and finding things to inspire. Once again she hit it out of the park!!!!

For this first card I am going to share today, I used the SPCC WCMD color comb #2. I liked this color combo and it worked for my country I was thinking about.
Here is the PTI WCMD #3 the country is India.
I was really inspired by the bling and the colors when surfing for ideas. Here is my card
Isn't that fun how it all worked together? The colors really went well. I must say SPCC color challenges usually have me stumped, but when I start putting it together I LOVE them. This is no exception.
Now I have to give credit where credit is due. Dawn totally rocked vintage labels in the last sneak peak from the PTI September release. The major reason this beauty ended up in my cart was all of the background papers she made and created. I never would have put those elements together, but after seeing her examples I was itching to try.
I added bling in all of the background elements and then I used the dotted label and blinged that out as well. It is so fun, sparkly and girly without feeling overboard.
It's a good life!
